CS:GO Discussion

So is the gameplay exactly the same as it was in the original CS? It looks so immature in that respect to the likes of COD.

How many new maps are they creating for GO?

Yeh frankly COD is the connoisseurs FPS shooter.... The gameplay in COD is extremely advanced and makes the gameplay in CS:GO looks positively immature and lacking skill.
 
Well all day I have been playing really bad as I just couldn't get the sensitivity to feel right.

5 min ago I was checking out the option menu...mouse acceleration on...turn off and we are back in business!!
 
I will quite possibly be looking for a match later tonight, I have a few friends on now and will be avail later around 8 I reckon for a game.
If there are 5 on here who fancy playing us would be cool!

Managed to sort a few profiles/configs out on my server now. Just discovered they updated clanforge last night and it has a ESL tournament config in the addons now so that is loaded for the competitive mode

I like it so far, great fun playing a nice new fresh Counter Strike :) I'm sure I'll have some things I don't like by the time the day is up though
 
any command to see fps?

don't know if its me , but it feels like i get huge fps lag and my ping is always about 40-50 max which i was quite shocked about having a 20mbps connection. I have everything on max and have turned off multicore helped slightly but still not perfect.

I would hardly call it fresh and new though....

Really it is more like a patch for CSS....
 
When can we pre-load the full game anyone know? This is the first time i've pre ordered a game via Steam and not sure if they do a pre-load so you can download it but not use it til release?
 
I doubt you will need to preload the game. Most of it is there in the beta which sits a 5.2gb. I expect a patch/update and it will unlock it all.
 
So what's the game like, I'm after a decent FPS to play on pub servers, gone off CS:S since my regular servers all died and don't like either the recent cods or Battlefields. Could this be a decent game for me? I've heard it's not up to 1.6 standards but then that's not really what I'm after.

I find it nothing like css?

It seems to be more affected by pings etc that other cs's. The recoil on colt/ak seems a lot different imo

I'd say try it mate. I was skeptical after CSS but im getting used to it.
