Someone should tell that islamic lot that you are born nakid and don't have a Koran in your hand and that it's your parents that are the brainwashers ;) - This goes for all other religions too

You've missed the point. To that little girl it was probably just something that could be burned. I very much doubt she had any comprehension of the importance of the document she was burning. It's like a kid drawing on the walls or on an important document in your house. It happens all the time. I very much doubt that her intention was to upset the whole community.

Good God I have not missed the point infact I defended the girl

Religion has nothing to do with football, what an idiotic post. People like you who associate religion with football are the problem.

Really? Might want to tell that to some of your bretheren in a few years time when you lot finally crawl your way back up the leagues. And for what its worth im not a supporter of any scottish teams, or any football team for that matter (besides Ireland obviously), if anything i think the scottish leagues a joke considering its been a 2 horse race for the better part of a quarter of a century now :)

Nothing wrong with being Muslim, you can have upto 4 wives right?? No wonder people are becoming devout Muslims, it has it's perks! ;)

It might just be "plain paper with letters in ink" to many people but to some it represents a whole lot more than just that. Surely we can just respect this and move on? You don’t have to believe anything you don’t want to believe but It is not hard to show a little respect :p

I do understand that many people believe every single copy of the Quran is sacred but why? The text has been reproduced billions of times, there is almost zero possibility of it ever being lost so does it matter if a copy gets destroyed? Even if it's some bloody idiot in America trying to burn as many copies as he can get hold of - why does it actually matter? People died because of the insane reaction to that moron, utterly pointlessly.

I fully respect the rights of you and anyone else to hold sacred what you will but I don't think anyone should be able to impose those beliefs on others.

Yep, lump everyone in with a couple of braindead idiots who can't seperate religion from the football. You're just another bigot stereotyping.

Im pretty sure its more than a couple, ive seen a few old firm games and heard "billy boys" being belted out loudly enough for it to be very audiable on TV, so either this "couple" have the best set of lungs and vocal cords on the planet or its more than a couple doing it. And on the flip side ive heard pro ira songs from the Celtic side.

When it comes to Scotland in paticular, religion has a lot to do with football, like it or not.

Brainwashing happens all the time in football, parents from random places like Burnley, Northampton, Grimsby, Aldershot et etc brainwashing their kids into supporting Liverpool or Man Utd etc, it's a vicious circle.

To be honest when a vocal Rangers supporter has a go at a vocal Celtic supporter and attacks Catholicism (even in a satirical way) it doesn't really do anything to dissuade people from the stereotype. :D

So without the influence of religion you still think these people would be looking at burning down houses and persecuting disabled girls? Also didn't this occur near the capital city rather than some provincial backwater?

Yes they would, because as they say old habits die hard.

People's mentality and common sense were directly affected by the conditions they lived in. Religion offered education.

Well it doesn't seem to have worked very well here because they are wanting to burn down houses and persecute a disabled girl because of a religious "crime".

So.. without religion, without the Quran existing, without blasphemy, you STILL think they would be burning down houses and persecuting children over a few destroyed pages?

Your next post is somewhat ironic.

Again how many times does one have to point out the fact that that people who want to burn down houses are the people who have missunderstood what religion teaches them?!?

There are many people who believe in religion and they do not want to burn down houses or skin people alive? (Unless you are predator ;))

Dont put everyone in the same pot. In every society/culture/religion there will be idiots.
