Region locking is almost always done at the request of the publisher of the game or due to a specific "feature" like GFWL, in all likelihood it had nothing to do with Steam.

DarknessII, Darksiders and Red Faction all activated on steam via US Amazon last month for me and other titles before that too all worked.

Inversion doesn't have GWFL.
Would be interesting to see another game from Amazon US trying to be activated on Steam then.

Same, but since then we've had 2 steam user agreements (Which I've never seen happen before)

Would like to be proven wrong if anyone's looking at anything on Amazon US Steam key wise.

I redeemed my Russian Sleeping Dogs this Wednesday just gone, so unless the new T&C came since then, I don't think they are region locking.

I'm sure I had a policy change yesterday or at least Wednesday (I'd have two in two weeks), I'm on the new community thing, perhaps it came from updates leading to that.

I've E-mailed Steam, they specifically have region lock as a problem, so it might not be down to Steam. It just seems weird that it's on a title like inversion.

Tbf, if Steam have cracked down on region locks, they are ******s. If a Ruski can go buy a game for half the price we get them brand new, why aren't we allowed to go grab a Russian copy? This is the internet, regioning should have been abolished years ago.

30% off Darksiders 2 and/or Sleeping Dogs at Greenman Gaming with code:

Both register on Steam.

or 20 % off any other game with code:

If they are region locking games on steam then unless its a MP game i am desperate to play online its a sale lost to Steam and publishers. I thought the cd key sellers were a great innovation in the market but now it will be back to the free to play model for me.

I have had San Andreas sitting on my shelf for years now, and I keep thinking that one day I will reinstall it and replay it.....just looked at it and there is no disc in there!

Cheapest place to get this? GMG have it for £10. Ideally I want to play it tonight, so will have to be a dl.

Ever just thought that Russian keys are usually robbed?
