You get most Karma from events not heart tasks, the hearts will get done as you do the events. Spend as you get it IMO - it comes faster and faster as you level.

Not really, that is just the pug zerg mentality in any game.

yup, it just means too many are trying to log in really, just keep trying. I get passed it after 2 tries normally.
