I love the gameplay, and i love a good challenge and that, but Ascalon Catacombs is mega hard for a first dungeon. It feels like 2 dodge rolls is not enough for how frequent some of the trash mobs attack, especially the ranged elemental mobs. Still was a lot of fun though! And got tons of xp a the end of it 3/4 at level at 35!
@The people who are hitting 70-80 already, have you played since launch?
Agree'd. We all basically logged off and on to make sure we was put in the Overflow server. No lag at all in their.
change your password to something strong.
For example Ilik3ApPl3Pi3!$&%
So I dinged level 73 last night, entered the last of the lowbie zones before heading to Orr.
Exploration is the key now, because there are no renown hearts at all!
Actually, change your password into something easy to remember, but really long, like 'i am really really rubbish at remembering my password'.
Not sure how long GW2 passwords can be, but the above will totally flummox a dictionary attack, and a brute force hack takes exponentially longer to work the more characters there are in a password.
I remember the WoW launch on my original server, it was that laggy I couldn't log in for weeks until server transfers.
I think I have decided, the game is great, the events are amazing. Good fun, but the leveling just seems pointless to me... Have no real 'goal' to get to. In WoW, hit it on the head. You play your character to level xx, gaining skills, talents etc etc on the way. Giving you something to aim for. Once you got to the end game. You knew how to play and what your play style was.
Sure there were stronger builds than others. But none the less.
GW2, it's only flaw is the biggest for my in my opinion. No aim or 'feel' for your character. Try out several weapon types and combos, find the one that suits you. Done. Level 10 sorted. Sure you get a few more skills over time. But they are not play style changers. Leaving you with 70 levels of events and quests.
So yea, sadly, not the MMO I have been looking forHave 5 level 15's now, and just don't feel like playing anymore.
Absolute shame really, as if it had the same leveling mechanics as WoW (talents and skills every 2 levels), I would have been in heaven.
Please, don't get me wrong, GW2 is amazing, the devs have done a FANTASTIC job with this. Really good game and thoroughly rec it to anyone looking for a new MMO.

Probably the best thing on the internet right now.
ArenaNet are naming and shaming people who have been banned.
So damn funny its epic.
Each to their own mate but you'll hate wow after mop launch if the talents is an issue as after mop its 1 talent point every 15-20 levels. The amount of customisation and uniqueness is being removed![]()

Wotcha folks.
I've just picked up a copy online, installed it overnight (already getting password phishing emails despite never having logged into the game! Yay!)
I plan to play it as a casual on-again-off-again type of game, do a bit of levelling, have an explore, try out new characters, do a dungeon if there are people on who want one, help with someone's personal story quest for fun etc, but won't have a regular 'schedule' of being online, so not looking for a hardcore guild. Would either of the OCUK guilds be suitable? Or willing to have me? A decent, active guild chat and players willing to help one another out has always seemed to me to make or break an MMO experience, so that's what I'm looking for. I get the impression the Desolation guild is looking to be a bit more focussed, whereas the other one (arg, can't find the name in the thread now) might be more open to casual membership?
Failing that, anyone come across any friendly/chatty guilds they can recommend?
