I'd love a boat to take out on a few lochs in Scotland, get away from the hustle and bustle and relax, maybe read a book or throw a rod in.

What sort of money would get me something decent and clean?

£3-4k be enough?

Cheers.

How long is a piece of string. Really depends on what you are after but yes you should be able to get something OK for that. Be realistic about maintenance costs (unless you are extremely handy yourself).

Is their an autotrader for boats? Boat-trader?

I'm not handy at all and don't fancy any repair jobs.

I'm not looking for anything too fancy, just something I can stick on a trailer.

be aware that you need a license to fish from a boat on some lochs in Scotland.
I know that you do for Loch Ness anyway (but you dont need a license to fish from the shore). I expect most other lochs are the same, but i'm not so sure.

Your quite right. I used to fish a lot when I was younger, primarily at loch awe. I'll have no issues buying a day pass.
