Did you enjoy you first beer?

No because it was something truely aweful like stone or another lager when I was around 9 (took a sip of my dads can).

I'd say it wasnt until I was around 16 (while at college) till I enjoyed going into a pub sitting down and having a beer before then was more to get drunk rather than anything else.

KaHn

Yes when at the tender age of three although it was Stout rather than beer I enjoyed it nonetheless! I hid under the table in the livingroom and stole my mums when she'd put it down upon noticing it was missing she then heard "MMM... Beer" From under the table :p

I was very lucky, my first full beer was actually a beer (not a ****** lager) a pint of Horndean Special Bitter (HSB) at the George Inn in Eartham in West Sussex. It tasted like necter to me and gave me a taste for ales from the get go :)

Sadly George Gale & Co who brewed it are no longer with us :( but luckily Fullers now use the recipe and still brew it so I can still get a pint of it even up here in Brum....

mmmmmmmmm, think I might have to pay The Old Joint Stock in the city centre a visit tonight for a few HSB's then pop through the smoking yard in to the back door of the Welly to see what's on the 16 pumps

I didn't want a beer until this thread :(

Ice cold stella when I was 11, very much enjoyed it. Prefered wine though, with special meals.
One of the greatest phrases on this planet though, when you pass a young looking guy drunk off his **** "I remember my first beer", the joys of being a student without having the mental age of a chimp and the alcohol tolerance of an old lady.

How many men on here order appletinis instead of beer at the bar?

Had a stout on holiday when i was ~9, didnt know what i was asking for and learned the hard way lol. think my Dad only bought it because he knew i would hate it.

I really didn't like my first o subsequent beers until I was 22. Turns out I don't like most beer sold in SA and the UK. I now like a handful of beers, mainly wheat ones.

I remember my 1st taste of lager, think it was some of my dads home brew. I actually loved the taste, must have only been 11 or so. I still turn my nose up at a lot of lagers though, fosters & carling are especially horrid!

Sorry Gents and ladies I'd just like to clear up one thing...

*Ahem*

LAGER ISN'T BEER! IT'S JUST WRONG!

Beer = Ale, Stout, Bitter & Wheat Beers(Weiss Beer, Whitbier, Etc...)

Lager = Tasteless ****!

My first beer was one of those cheap and nasty weak supermarket lagers. It wasn't great but it wasn't undrinkable. I drank it because my friends were drinking it.

I really want to get into coffee. It would be so much more convenient than having to ask for tea all the time. The trouble is that I find the taste fairly horrible. If it's an acquired taste, it's going to be difficult to acquire.

Going back a few moons now but must have been 16 and in some pub, can actually still remember and the taste of lager was repulsive, was just drinking it to not look like an idiot, but just pure vomit material, holding back the vomit. Since then a different story i can drink any beer, and usually enjoy it a lot.

I was thinking does the body naturally reject beer/alcohol, but if you drink it long enough you develop a taste. Does the body think it should be a poison that it's fighting against? Just curious...

I never drink cider but if I was to have a drink i know it would be revolting but again if I keep drinking over a few days I would acquire the taste.

I didn't hate it but didn't really like it either.

I think when you are young you are used to drinking sugary drinks so it comes as a bit of a shock to your tastebuds.

Love beer now though. :D
