Hi guys,

I haven't built a PC since back in 2008/2009 where I was running an evga780i with the intel q6660 and 4gb of OCZ ram.. nothing amazing but at the time I spent a lot of time working out a decent rig.

I'm going to be working from home soon and need a rig pretty quickly, I'll be running VM's inside it, playing game and various other stuff.. It's been a while so I don't have a clue whats worth paying the extra for anymore, I quickly got together some parts.. Would anyone make any changes?

Cheers!

Hmm interesting, I don't particularly like the look of the Iiyama monitors, want something I can use in portrait mode..

I'm not really fussed about the graphics card and that seems to be bumping up the price at the moment. Is it worth spending the extra on the card to keep it current for a couple of years or is there cheaper card that still has some grunt? I'll be gaming but nothing intense.

The rest looks pretty decent, and that tower is definitely going in the basket.. Will I need any extra cooling aswell?

Thanks Doomespeed

Thats fair enough. I think that Asus you found would be best for that use, stick with that.

The GTX 670 is one of the top cards at the moment. So it is for high end gaming. If, like you say, you want something a bit less 'grunting' and more price efficient. The 7850's and 7870's are at great price points at the moment.

YOUR BASKET
1 x VTX3D HD 7870 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card w/ Nexuiz, Sleeping Dogs & Dirt Showdown PC Games £184.99
Total : £195.79 (includes shipping : £9.00).

The card above is on a great offer. And will easily handle all current games on high/ultra and most future releases at good FPS too..

It's a nice case isn't it, thought you'd like it. :)

It seems to come with 3 fans already so i don't think you will.

Aha think that will be plenty :L I wanted to do a water cooled rig, but dont have the time or patience to do the research.

All I need now is a decent wireless card and I think Im good to go.. will I need some paste for the Mount Doom or does it come with anything decent?.. think Ive got some AS5 still laying about..

You've been a massive help Doomsedspeed- I owe you a beer!

Thanks!
