Sleeping Dogs performance

Hi guys, with the settings on extreme I am barely getting 30fps with my 670. Should this be the case?!?

Have you updated your drivers?

I see minimum of 36fps and an average of 50+ in the extreme benchmark with vsync on with a 7970 with a mild overclock.

Extreme AA uses super sampling, it's going to cripple most, if not all cards, SLI can probably give playable fps with extreme AA but that's about it.

Drop AA to high or normal, you can leave the rest at max.

From what i read Extreme AA is pretty crippled on Nvidia cards atm as its optimized for AMD seems to bring even the top end Nvidia cards to their knees.

It's not that. As mentioned above with uber-sampling, it will cripple the performance of ANY card. From what I recall it would drop frame rate by around 50-60%, doesn't matter what card it is.

Is Sleeping Dogs any good? Sorry to go off topic but from the youtube vid I watched, it didn't look that great...Worth buying?

I wasn't talking about whether or not a high-end card can run that game smooth, I merely pointing out that frame rate would be much lower with uber-sampling enabled than disabled.

Thats the thing, High end Nvidia cards can't play on Extreme AA smoothly even 680 SLI setups are struggling, whereas AMD cards are taking a much smaller hit.

Mine runs it well on max settings untill it shuts the card down because of the high temps, 10c hotter than any other game or benchmark, although not certain that i have a problem, card crashes at 72c core and mem+vrm @61c

Think i'm gonna try this game at stock clocks and see what happens

Post a screenshot of the in game benchmark with all settings at max, your idea of smoothly probably isn't the same as other peoples.
