Hmm what the hell has been going on with my '100mb' recently? :p

Between 6am and 6pm on that graph there has literally been no usage from here so it would be the vm network. Also been noticing the odd blips of packet loss on the graphs recently.

Any ideas Awinchurch?
 
i had 2 weeks of downtime, they came and swapped a bit of metal that goes between the cable and the router. all sorted. i called virgin and moaned it took so long for something so simple and *demanded* compensation. went from 30meg to 100meg for free :D

 
thought i'd let you guys know, my area was upgraded within the past 2 days but i hadn't received superhub, i ordered free superhub using virgin media chat which was disabled a few months ago i believe. Now superhub is arriving on monday, an upgrade hadn't been scheduled for me so the customer service person did it for me. They required me to sign a new 12 month contract which i agreed to, very happy :)
 
Im still getting poor perfomance on Skype and Youtube, download speeds are perfect tbh on the 50mb connection, so im unsure of what it could be.

What tests should i be carrying out to find the problem?

You should not have been forced to enter into a new contract, Virgin have confirmed on their forums that that is not required. And when I got my upgrade I made a point of making sure that did not happen - verbally and in writing. Just in case the upgrade went bad, which fortunately it hasn't. In modem mode the 60Mb Superhub is as reliable as my old 20Mb connection, thank goodness. I would have no problem now with a new contract, and will get one anyway when I move to a TIVO box soon.
 
Right well after an exciting hour on the phone at great expense, I'll need an engineer visit. Which means I'm unlikely to have internet until near November as I need a weekend visit, and I don't have any free. Great.
 
Happy with mine, just be better with a higher upload speed :)

When I'm downloading it hits 12mb/s so like 120 :)

Yes, I desperately want a higher upload. Am still waiting for my 3Mb to be doubled to 6Mb. I don't particularly want to pay more for a higher download just to get a higher upload, but I'll see.
 
I hate when the net just goes because of maintenance.. and of course I get 1.4mb download speeds in the morning, sometimes in afternoon and sometimes very early morning. Hate how it just caps through the day..
 
Well 2 further visits from "Master Techs", endless phone calls, not calling me back, more excuses and just ignorance on their part I'm just going to cancel.
