Underwhelmed by Crysis 3

As per the title, that is my opinion. Personally, thought the original Crysis game was awsome. Yeah the story sucked a bit but it looked visually stunning.

Then comes along Crysis 2. Story isn't so bad but has a few plot holes. As for the graphics though, not nearly as good as the original Crysis.

As for Crysis 3, I'm not overly impressed by the trailers and I get the impression it's trying too hard to make up for the fact Crysis 2 (in my opinion) was a bit of a let down as it had a lot to live up to.

Thoughts please.

Yes Crysis 2 sucked overall, let's just blame the consoles

Crysis 1 was an awesome game (well, the first half). Because of this, give Crytek the benefit of the doubt, wait for the game before you judge it (plus it gives your opinion some credibility)

I liked the second more i think

As for not being impressed by crysis 3 i think its visually the most stunning game we have seen yet.

I'm going to get in here before everyone starts bashing me. Rather a valid point, yes I haven't played the game yet so my opinion is entirely based only on previews etc so yes I agree my argument does not have a lot of weight.

I suppose I will get my answer when the game comes out.

I also liked it, and would put forward the statement of whoever thinks Crysis looks better than Crysis II should go for an immediate eye test, because your going blind... :rolleyes:

I really didn't think Crysis 2 was all that bad, i'm all for great graphics but did enjoy playing it

As for Crysis 3 I did see the booth at Gamescom but the que's were way too big.

crysis 2 was fun until you realise you can just run past most stuff when in stealth mode, oh, and i hated the fact it told you various ways of dealing with each set piece. crysis 1 = amazing, crysis 2 = meh, not gonna bother with the 3rd purely for the reason that it'll be linear and 'modern warfare-y'

TBH I'm underwhelmed by the 2020s, we're not there yet but the trailers of current events show that the future is not a bright one. Kind of fallout-esque.

Crysis 2 with the add on packs to enhance the graphics is stunning, i liked the single player game. Crysis 3 you can't judge, im sure it will be good.

Crysis 2 with DX11/Ultra settings and high-res texture pack is probably, overall the best looking game out right now and offers decent performance too. My only gripe with it is the post-process anti-aliasing which blurs things too much, but even then I can see why they used it, as it virtually eliminates aliasing, provides excellent performance and gives the game a more cinematic and pre-rendered feel.

I still think the original Crysis does certain things better, mainly because the environment is different and being a PC exclusive, the graphics naturally look very crisp, detailed and unique compared to the sea of generic console ports. But, anyone who thinks Crysis 2 looks poor needs to get their eyes checked. Not sure how bad it was prior to the DX11/texture-pack release, but it looks and runs bloody amazing on my 680. I'm playing the game at 1080p, everything maxed out and it runs very smooth, barely dropping below 60fps.

Gameplay wise, Crysis 2 is still fun to play but the compromises made for it to work on consoles really show. I can only imagine how much better the game would have been if it was a PC exclusive.

Crysis 3 is coming out on consoles too..

Not expecting anything from Crysis 3, it won't be a million miles apart from number 2, which with the comic ruined any chance of Crysis 3 being any good as the story is gone down the crapper.

now this is what i think will happen.

crysis - look amazing for the time
crysis 2 - fun
crysis 3 - fun and will look amazing ( dev said that they have made big improvements to cryengine 3 now theyve had more time with it, not just visual. )
