Crop circle - this one's definitely not aliens

You see, this is why it's pointless discussing these things here. Absolute, brazen closedmindedness of the most arrogant kind.

Its pointless discussing these things because the people proposing them are close-minded and, generally, a bit naive.

If you're a teenager, with an interest in sci fi, who is still relatively ignorant about the world around him then its perhaps excusable to believe in alien visits etc... If not then I'd say you'd have to be fairly credulous and rather stubborn in your belief to the point where you ignore or dismiss anything to the contrary.

I couldn't have put it better myself and that was the time I also believed in the paranormal and aliens.
Adults who continue this nonsense on have real issues especially when in the case of crop circles we've seen how 'easy' they are to make by 2 blokes, string and a plank of wood.

How can you not believe in alien life or the paranormal? To do so is beyond ridiculous. For us to be the only planet in the universe with life on it is crazy. You're a "reformed" alien believer, the worst kind. I know your stories about being into them for decades and finding no concrete proof, but you're still looking at it from a very limited human perspective. You refuse to think outside the boundaries that your own mind creates.

Likewise if you're refusing to believe in the paranormal you're assuming that everything in the known universe can be picked up via five human senses, or by human technology, which is also crazy.

but we are, in terms of the life of the universe, a blip in time.

sure, aliens will most likely exist at some point. but that could have been millions of years ago or millions of years in the future (they might be just single celled organisms right now)

the point is we need to be existing around the same time as them and at the same(ish) level of tech, which is pretty remote.

when you factor all that in you realise that the chances are dramatically reduced.

Reduced yes, but still possible.

The universe is, as far as we know, infinite. That means infinite planets, infinite possibilities. The chances are that there are races that have died out, that are existent and less advanced than us, and that are far more advanced than us. The possibilities cover all bases.

If you open your mind too much, your brain will fall out.
