£150

I need to stop faffing around and actually buy a gfx card now I have the rest of my system.

Basically I have £150 to spend, could stretch it slightly if it's worth it. Based on past experience I would really prefer Nvidia, but happy to take suggestions for both.

Mainly playing fps games, at 1920x1200.

For nvidia you should go for a used GTX 580. there just isn't anything from nvidia that will match AMD in the £150 bracket.

Only choice in this price bracket at the mo unless you can pick up something decent second hand.

Ah i didn't realise it was a 1gb version. 2gb might be better.

Ah... yes good point, i did not see that Sapphire was 1GB, definitely spend a bit more for 2GB.

Do the Sapphire 7850s have any advantage over their MSI and Gigabyte counterparts?

I've heard much better things about the latter two's RMA process, that's all.

The MSI and Gigabyte have 3 year warranty whereas the Sapphire only has 2.

Depending on what they have in stock, or what their agreement is with the manufacturer all that can happen is they forward it on to the manufacturer anyway.

If they have it in stock and they can test it then I would imagine it'll be a case of just replacing it from the stock so potentially quicker.
