If you could bring a dead rock star back to life

Couldn't chose between Kurt Cobain/Hendrix/Dimebag or Freddie, all different styles of music, but all fantastic in their own rights

john lennon for humanity

and for myself

Mr Mojo Rising or Kurt. The music i grew up with....

Zappa.

He was just getting to a point where contemporary chamber orchestra's had the technique to play his compositions and an interest in doing so. Coupled with computer technology giving him the ability to do so much at home in the studio. The Yellow Shark and Civilisation Phase III only really hinted at what was still to come if cancer hadn't taken him first.

Kurt Cobain, the music I grew up with, came to an abrupt end :(

I think we have to consider the deeper implications of this. If you brought Kurt back then he wouldn't just drop everything and start making great music again. He was driven to take his own life, and i don't see how bringing him back so he can sing to you is a show of respect.

 Er, Still alive at 54 according to wiki?

My vote goes to Hendrix BTW. :)

Yeah he said about 4 years ago, I doubt he's still reading this thread.

Freddie Mercury - the guy had it all, the voice, an entertainer and a ultra talented song writer and musician which is often overlooked because of his massive stage presence and infectious on stage personality. Don't forget this is a guy who wrote, Bohemian Rhapsody, Killer Queen, Somebody to Love, We are the Champions, Crazy Little thing called Love, Barcelona etc.

I got the new version of Barcelona the album today. Listened to it and my god it's brilliant! It's a very operatic piece of work, opera not being something I either listen to or know a lot about. But Barcelona is a brilliant album!
