Guild Wars 2

I tried playing last night and my normal 40-50 fps had gone to 8-11 and the game was very stuttery. Is this a game issue then? I'd just put a new soundcard in and wondered if there was some funky hardware problems; it's a Xonar D1, if anyone could confirm theirs works ok that'd be great :)

I haven't been able to play since the weekend. My account has been disabled with an error code of 122:4:5:1270. Apparently, according to their code list, I didnt buy the game from an authorized seller.

Waiting on ticket now for the past 2 days

This games login servers are so broken at the moment, I'm going back to wow, at least I get a fun, stable experience on there.

Bit of an overeaction to be honest, it goes down quite regulary but is sorted quite quickly. Also if it normally goes down and your on, then you stay on just others can't connect for a short time until fixed.

I highly doubt the login issues, cause you that much displeasure that you have to resort going back to World of Borecraft. I played it on and off for 7 years, i resubbed 5 months back and jumped around in town for 5 mins then deleted it again.

PS. That's my opinion, i know you have your own before a Fanboy comment is sent my way! ;)

Have fun with your stale, repetitive, dull MMO experience :D

logon servers worked fine for me tonight :p Mind you spent 2 hours doing the jumping puzzle in Metrica Provence...whomever thought of those is an evil genius!

Anyone got any good farming spots for cotton scraps ? Having trouble getting barely any .... don't want to outlevel this tier tooo much. Definitely think drop rates on cloth/leather should be higher. You can go through some zones and get virtually none, especially if it's an area with few humanoid mobs.

The dungeons are so bad. I did AC the other day and was less than impressed with the encounter design - not a good start. I was only level 30 though when I did it so I put this down to being under levelled/geared. Just done a run of CM and wow - first boss can kill you with no telegraph, how can you dodge without one... stupid. The rest of the instance was a total face roll, and then the cut scene at the end - What the hell, it made no sense.

Ill try doing TA tomorrow but I suspect more of the same poor design. It's a good job the rest of the game is excellent

Blargh 40 hours in and I am not feeling it anymore. Just have to force my self to play it for an hour or two.

I've been following GW2 (and been involved with at work) for a good while now and was hoping it would revitalize my interest in MMOs. Sadly, I'm feeling the same as Sherbs. I'm at lvl 34 and not really feeling the incentive to play when I'm free.

The graphics and art aesthetic are excellent, no question. I also like the jumping puzzles and exploration. However, I'm finding the combat and camera (I play mesmer) a bit too "floaty". Leveling is the same old story, but made more convenient as one does not need to talk to quest givers. (I admit I cannot think of a better solution than this).

GW2 clearly appeals to a large demographic as evidenced by close to 1 million pre-orders worldwide. For me personally, I don't know :/. I may just be tired of the MMO genre, having playing and enjoyed WoW at a hardcore level in PvE/PvP for most of its existence.

I feel Arena Net missed a trick not implemented PvP in the core game zones. The fact you aren't able to see player names in WvWvW kills a lot of the community/server rivalry for me.

I'll continue playing at a casual-ish pace, as I am interested to see what the competitive PvP and general end game PvE will evolve into. It's still early days ;)

lol and GW2 isn't? WoW bashers are funny. They forget it lasted 7 years or more and now it's trendy to bash it. GW2 wont even last a year..

What is even funnier is someone who says GW2 won't last a year.

And before you wise crack...I've been playing WoW for years, and continue to do so.

The game is in such an infant state though. PvP and WvWvW I think will be huge in a couple months. Did GW1 and WoW and have full on amazing PvP/dungeons at launch? Not that I can remember.

Damn some of these jumping puzzles are very annoying.

Sharkmaw caverns springs to mind for me. Having just recently figured out what the hell to do. And yes they are very frustrating but we wouldnt have it any other way really. Would we?

I am on a major downer right now though, as im currently unable log into my guild wars 2 account. My hotmail account has been hacked and all my authentication links are going to that address. Now as im unable to log into my email i cant verify its me, or change my email either.
its very very frustrating!!!!
