So if you break it once, what happens? Called in? Told off? Told to keep it down? Then if it happens again game over?

They recommend at the start of the day, you short shift if you think you might breach the limits, so if you've got a 7k redline, shift at 6k.
Basically build your speed throughout the day if your worried your car will be on the limit.
If you trigger it, they black flag you, if you can prove you've done something, they let you back on.
What I will say is they don't check to see what you've done, so in my case I just said I can plug something in within the engine bay, they did not check we'd done this, they just said fine, do it and you can go back on.
For me the issue is using 2nd through the chicane, as one of the sound meters is there, if I use 2nd I am at 7000rpm on the corner exit, if I use 3rd, I am around 5000rpm as such no issues.
Get black flagged a second time and its day over though unless you can prove there is something else you can do I guess, but be prepared for 2 strikes and your going home.
