Guild Wars 2

Exploiting mini events, thats how most of the 80's are there.

More negativity? Try saying something happy, it might make you feel happy and you can stop being so cranky about everything and anything in this thread.

I hit 80 last tuesday and I didn't exploit anything. I wasn't particularly power levelling either, I'd done some PvP and exploring.

Best way I found was to find an area you can get your teeth into. There were quite a few areas I didn't really enjoy and found myself running back and forth a lot. I tended to avoid these and go to areas where I found the quests flowed better for me. That way I could zip through and get loads of xp very quickly.

Discovered myself that leveling is VERY fast if you move to the tier of mobs equal to you and hit the events, it's only slower if you spend time trying to complete maps etc. It takes 4 or 5 times longer if you want to clear zones that are all about the same level.

Level 35 zone will give 3x the XP for gathering resources as one at level 25 etc.

Leveling in zones that are your level up to +5 gives great amounts of bonus exp and levels fast. And the events, way points hearts etc give sick exp. Also keeps you sharper as its harder and your level of ability will improve. Unlike if you always play places lower than your level.

Leveling is beyond simple in this game. 100% several areas, do some dungeons, start crafting, level 80 can easily be done in <5 days.

Each level pretty much takes about 30-45 minutes to get, even less with EXP boosters.

Was 80 in around 5-6 days after launch. Did have a bit of time off work so got lucky.

found that not completing zones was the fastest way, to move on to the better exp. Also levelled crafting, and got on the 1-400 cooking before it got nerfed!

87 Hours and only 47 whilst most importantly still Enjoying it, taking in the story and scenery. From the comments i'm in no rush to 80. When I do I'll be doing an alt anyhow. :)

Some of the earliest 80's did, we're talking within a couple of days and that wasn't all. At this point i'm surprised there aren't more, it takes 8 hours to get to 40 playing legit. I have an 80, 48,36 and i dont play round the clock... i was even away for 4 days last week.

So has anyone else fought Kudu in sorrows embrace yet? I did the dungeon twice yesterday on story mode, the first group made up of first timers breezed through it with someone else spamming to spread out. The second time was a nightmare because I was telling people to spread out and some $^"^%""% warrior decided that 'spread out' = run around all over the place, up to and back and forth past everyone and anyone else who were stood still and kiting / dodging in their places, and then we all get his leeroy agro on us.

The way the golems work is:

- First one uses chain lightning. Make an elementalist for yourself and see how big the range of the AoE is on this, its pretty huge. That means spread out far and wide.

- Second golem spams 2x fireballs which explode into 2x lava fonts with a super duration burning on EACH party member. You clump up and you dies from 10x fireball, 10x lava font, 10x burning. You separate and each person has two of each to deal with instead (kite the fireballs so they miss, dodge the lava fonts, remove condition if you get set on fire). He also heals himself if you use conditions on him, and all I see is stack after stack of conditions being thrown on him QQ.

Simple and easy fool proof diagram!

Red star = golems, green circles = party spread.

You do that, never go near anyone else even if they are downed / dead and its so laughably easy. You go near anyone else and you wipe superfast. I love it!

When are the first dungeons and how do you find them?

i'm at lvl 7 now with 2 toons. I prefer the necro though just for the pixels ;)

Did my first complete area 100% in the (biker) grove!

Have to agree with others here finding I'm levelling too fast for an area some areas spawn 3 events one after the other gaining me 350-400 XP which is too much when you consider it only takes about 1.5-2K to level thus loads of hearts are left untouched as I seek out mobs my level.

to be honest the events shouldn't give massive xp only Karma. I think 60XP per event at lvls 2-7 would be fine.

Really enjoying my Charr thief more and more now. I think im finally set on sword (MH) and dagger (OH) for main weaps and then a shortbow as a secondary which I can swap to if I need to get the hell outta dodge cause my HP is low :p

I'm still struggling to get my head around WvW though I just do not understand it at all :p I should prob read up on it some more. I look at the WvW tab and its like ok I click go to WvW but then I have like 4options and I have no idea which one to click. I went into Desalations border and the map was just massive. I ran around for a bit with no real clue what I was doing I headed to where there was an "event" (orange marker) there was a few people fighting away I jumped in a got ganked within like 3 seconds. So I just thought sod it and went back to questing :p It takes forever to actually get into the WvW too :( meh

Really enjoying the Charr starting zones though. Deffo my fav. The Humans I felt like it was really lacking it just felt so bland and boring. Sylvari was ok. I havn't tried Asura or Norn though so cannot comment on those. But Charr is awesome plus really enjoying my story as part of the Iron Legion :D
