Guild Wars 2

I think anyone wanting to buy the game should fork our the 49.99 ANET are asking for its not that much and worth it to keep the developers in the go.... You'd be paying a whole lot more if it was subscription based and well worth the money imo

I take your point mate, of course we want to keep good developers going but paying so much, especially for a digital copy sets a precedent that is likely to be replicated by other less deserving devs.

I can all be sure a number of expansion packs will be released which will keep the coffers of ArenaNet filled over time so I wouldn't worry about them going bankrupt any time soon, and that's besides the store they have running.

Already people are questioning the longevity and end-game of GW2 so long term they probably wouldn't be able to sustain a subscription model. There will be hardcore folks who play this religiously as I'm sure some did for GW1 but I think the majority of people will drop in and out over the years as new content and expansions are released.

There are only 2 back items which you get through questing at level 33 and level 60.

Also it's 1 gold to have teh guild emblem on your armor, merchant in you main town has them but not sure which one

Its the Guild Armour Merchant, usually stood with the Guild Weapon Merchant (who puts emblems on weapons, but god knows why , its not like its easy to seem them on a weapon) and usually stood near to the guild npcs. They can also be found in lions arch and in the entry keeps in the borderlands

Hey guys, can anyone help me out - I've got a couple of days off next week and really want to get hold of GW2 for the long weekend. A lot of places seem to be OOS...could you drop me a trust message if you have any recommendations on where I could get either the digital or boxed copy at a reasonable price. Many thanks :)

Wated 10k Karma due to lag, brought a weapon I cant use and didn't even know it until 10 mins later....doh. We need a resell option on unused items :)

okay, a google news search of "Guild wars 2 stock" shows an article from Game rant saying "Two days later, first-party sales on GuildWars2.com and replenishment of stock for retail partners were suspended." i can't open this at work but am interested to know if they have suspended hard copies being distributed yet. Can't open this at work.

It was just digital sales AFAIK, stopped them until they could get the servers under control and get some more up and running. Now they have digital sales are back up.

Anyone use a gamer keypad for GW2? I'm considering a Logitec G13 as I'm prone to missing the odd key on a traditonal keyboard and my hand and arm start to ache after a while (read: I'm getting old).

Any advice and tips?

I'm using a G13, Tbh I'd recommend a mouse like the Naga/G600 over it. It's good but I think the mouse option is better.

Thanks for the response. I already have a reasonbale gamers mouse with several programmable buttons - not sure I want to buy another so soon after buying the one I have.

Is the G13 comfortable? How long does it take to get the hang of using one?

yea I have to agree I've had my Razer Naga for about 1yr and a half now. I'm so used to having the buttons on the mouse its easier and feels far more natural to me. I'm so hooked on my Naga I even bought a second one as a backup just in case my current used one ever breaks for some reason.

But its universal, for any games I play on the PC now I always macro stuff to the number buttons to use. I find it much easier then all I need to focus on the keyboard is WSAD, space bar and possibly shift and/or ctrl. The rest is done via my Naga.

It's pretty comfortable. I'm not using the thumbstick though (it's a bit small and I haven't really had the time to try and get used to it) This might be more of an issue in a game with more controls but for GW2 It's fine.
