Anyone else suffer and addiction for getting 100% of achieve or trophys on their games or is it just me?

Currently 100% on about 90% of my games on live...
I feel like I need help... lol

I used to be bothered about this sort of thing but now that I have less time to play games I don't really care for trophies and achievements that much. I'll just play whatever I feel like playing at the time regardless of whether I need to finish trophies on another game or not.

My friend keeps telling me that I'm missing out on some fantastic games.
Whats more pathetic is if it has online achieves, I don't play it lol. Unless they are easily obtained.

Your friend is right. Especially if youre missing out on Gears of War, COD, Crysis 2 etc just because of acheivements. Like Killswitch said, there will always be someone with more not to mention no one will really care about how many games you have 100% on, even less if its just the easy ones!

I used to be more addicted to GS than I am now. Now I just aim to play the best games and do the fun cheevos if I enjoy the challenge. Lifes too short to be playing Hannah Montannah!

The games I love I like to get full gamer score but not bothered about overall score or playing a terrible game once started. I also won't go for any achievements that are grind heavy.

I used to always try for the platinum/100% but now I only do it on games that I'm really having a blast with. However, I do prefer to play games on my ps3 vs my pc just because of trophies so I guess that's 'some kind' of addiction.

I honestly don't see the point in being obsessed with trophies/achievements. It's just a pointless number.
I've got 1 friends who is utterly obsessed with them. He won't get rid of a game until he's got 100%. And he get's proper annoyed if somebody has an achievement in a game he doesn't have. I just find it to be a weird really.

I used to be like this but lately, I find it's just a waste of time and you deny yourself full enjoyment of the game because you're constantly wandering if you're about to miss and achievement.

I'm thinking about scrapping it and just going for offline achieves since online achieves are what push me away.
That way I can buy games I've avoided but been advised to play.

I've turned into abit of an achievement wh0r3 of late working on Crackdown orbs found 799/800 ..... GRRRRRRrrrrrrrr finding that last one think going to be down to luck lol

I've been grinding my way through completing all Forza 3 races on and off the a couple of months, in between ploughing through the Mass Effects which I missed first time round.

not bothered if i don't get 100%, but i'll not play a game on Steam or 360 unless it has them. not fussed about PS3 as i only play the free Plus stuff now.

I quite like it when an achievement pops up and I admit I sometimes purposely work towards one but only if they're not too much of a pain to do.
I refuse to try and get ones that require you to something ridiculous to get it.
I've only actually played 1 game where i've got 100% and that was Prototype 2. And then it was only because the achievements are fairly easy to get.

I'm obsessed. Currently working on the MGS4 platinum.

Good luck with that one, you have to complete the game 8 times. This is the reason I didn't buy it because getting all 8 emblems is ridiculous.

I am a bit of a trophy whore but like some people have said I do not buy any games with lengthy online grinding or having to play the game more than twice. I know there will always be someone with more trophies but I collect them for myself not anyone else.

I must admit, I do choose most of my games based on the trophy requirements rather than the game itself which is sad. But I will buy some games I really want regardless.

I have to complete the game 100% otherwise I feel like I have not finished the game properly. Getting a trophy for completing the hardest difficulty on a game is a challenge and frustrating but you get a real sense of achievement when you get it. I have the Devil May Cry trilogy to play next and have to finish it on DMD difficulty so this will be punishing but I'm sure worth it.
I have played many PC games in the past but something is missing when I play them as I am so used to having a goal in a game like collecting 100% of items or fully upgrading your weapon ETC.

The only downside to this is you are forced to play the game in a certain way rather than naturally playing without trophies and doing your own thing.

I know it's anal but I have to do it.
