Official Avengers Tread ere

Bloody hell, I enjoyed it but I didn't think it would make anywhere near that.

Superhero movies usually seem to make between 200 and 500.

It's probably an exception as this was the first superhero movie where everyone, I mean EVERYONE enjoyed. From my young cousins to old working colleagues bringing their Grandkids to watch, coming out saying how brilliant it was.

Keep it up and I'm sure the sequal will make it big too.

6 of the top 38 are superhero movies, all well over 500m in takings.

Iron Man 1 and 2 made over 500m, as did the random Hancock.

The rest, as you both say, are rather poor in comparison. Thor appears under 500m, Batman just over 400m.

Crazy that those have done so well, especially Spiderman3!!

For me, Alice in Wonderland is the "craziest" movie on the list... How on earth did that thing make over $1Billion?! I saw it not so long since - it wasn't a "bad" film, but it had absolutely nothing to distinguish it IMO.

... must have been a quiet time at the box office.

Interestingly the list also shows that in a lot of instances, sequels make more money than the first film in a series, even though the sequels might have been gash in comparison.

I never watched "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part2".
For those who saw it, was it any good?

I always found the Potter movies, rather long winded and boring. Almost as if they were made for 80 year old men who have all the time in the World.

Commercially, the Potter franchise has scored big at the box office.
Also Johnny Depp does seem to have considerable Box Office clout.

I'm no big Harry Potter fan, but Deathly Hallows 2 was, for me, certainly the best of the series.

I stayed away from HP until the movie series had finished, and watched them all in a fairly short space of time. The first three films almost put me off finishing the series as there seemed to be very little about them. The stories seemed weak and predictable, and I didn't really get drawn in to the whole "Hogwarts and magic" setting. But I decided to stick it out for one more film, and, for me, the final part of Goblet of Fire turned the series around. The scene in the graveyard was nicely done, and allowed the series to take a darker and more serious turn.

Deathly Hallows is the continuation of this dark theme, and certainly has a lot more action than any of the other films. It's the climactic battle that the series has been working towards, and is (IMO) put onto film quite well. The budget is (...obviously) sufficient to do the battles justice, and plays out as well as can realistically be expected considering that it's still at heart a children's story. My only major gripe would be the nauseating "epilogue" scene, which was unnecessarily sentimental and seemed very much out of place.

Anyway - if you've stuck it out the rest, you might as well watch the conclusion to the series. For my money it's the best of the Harry Potter films.

/\ Definition of off-topic.

Harry potter has exactly what to do with the Avengers?

(Not that I care, but y'know... just sayin')

Is this planned for release at the same time?

Yup, been building it at work for months now, DVD/BD/3D BD and the boxsets all released on 17th.

There are some unique variants of the actual Avengers movie if you shop around. For example we had to build an exclusive version just for Asda which has an Avengers comic bundled in with it.

Seems we aren't even getting the full version, no commentary and hardly any special features...USA gets everything.

I'll be downloading it until they stop ******* their customers then.
