These cards are seriously quick, infact they hardly loose out to the 2GB model at resolutions 1920x1080 and below. So for £130, this is a huge amount of performance for the money!!! :)

Nice price. 1024MB should just about cope with 1920x1080 within all but the most demanding games. However, it's probably worth spending an extra £20 on the 2048MB version.

Agreed, but for those who don't want to stretch, this is a true sucessor to the HD 6870 for the same money and a lot more performance. :)

Remember the 1GB's clock just as well as the 2GB models too. :D

Actually, in the computerbase.de review of the 1GB 7850 the 2GB was almost the same in their 1080P index (100.2% which is almost nothing). However, in their 1600P index the 2GB was 113.3% is a fair bit. So yes, 2GB is worth an extra £20 but the 1GB performs well in lot of titles. Unfortunately, while computerbase.de recently started testing Skyrim with mods (which is the one game which would probably show the biggest difference with more memory) their 1GB 7850 did not have mods.

Techpowerup were able to hit 1190MHz on their review of the 1GB Club3D. BF3 (which is still the one game which generally runs better on Kepler) gained 20%+ putting the 7850 at the same speed as the GTX580:

No hotlinking please.
Which is not bad from a £130 card. (Of course OC is not guaranteed).

The problem with the above results is that they don't show the minimums which would presumably be extremely low due to running out of VRAM with only 1GB on full Ultra in BF3.

+1

I could run Full Ultra on SP with a 560TI also but who wants to play SP when MP is where it is at? Still a cracking price for a 7850.

tbh I think the 2 gig for £150 is still an utter bargain sell the games on for 40 and you've got a cracking card for just over a ton
