**The iPhone 5 accessory thread**

I've been using an iPhone 4 for nearly 2 years without any scratches. Cases, for me in my opinion, mostly detract from the user experience and are designed for those that want to protect their purchase to sell it rather than enhance the use whilst they own it.

well said. I used to have a screen protector. Then I learned.

I put a case on mine because I'm prone to stopping it. That and the back of my iPad (non cased - don't drop that) has a couple of scratches on it. Glass has none mind...

You buy a lovely product and then put it in... THAT.

For shame. :( :p

Slip case for me, and definitely no screen protector either.

Just temporary :)

I'm probably going to take the case off. Took the case off my 4S after about a year and it feels sooooo good!

I'll definitely get screen protectors for both sides then

I used a back case for ages while I was in Cyprus but now I just go semi naked with protectors. I've only just thought that a back protector on the 5 is gonna be weird cos its a seamless design.

Won't bother with a screen protector, I'm yet to see a Gorilla glass screen scratched.

the dirty great scratch across across my SGS2 is proof enough that its quite possible. By all means dont use a screen protector but dont be under the illusion that GG is some kind of wonder material - it isn't.

The main marks on my phone are from the cases I've had anyway, the Apple one scuffed the aluminium frame and my current one has left a border of haze/scratches where the case border touched the screen.

I'll be getting front and back screen protectors and a leather slip case.

At the minute not having an luck finding ones on sale. Sure there wasn't this case shortage with previous models.

Suprised Apple didn't have a line of accessories when it went on sale.

Really? I thought the iPhone glass was damn easy to scratch. hell, mine got scrathed from a little bit of sand that was in my jacket pocket  (ip 4)

I work in glass manufacture and sand is the worst thing you can apply to glass. In fact, we use sand to blast logos on to laminate glass.

I've not had any problems with scratching, but putting any device in your pocket with sand or keys etc is asking for trouble :p

Running naked for me. May invest in a leather pouch to keep it safe in my coat pockets.

It was literally just the sediment that accumulates in the bottom of pockets :(

The matt finish on the back of the phone isnt exactly going to be useful for retaining a protective film so Im not sure we will see any?

Noticed on O2 moments they have a £10 off offer in the shop so got a universal leather pouch free of charge. Should do for now :)
