Parts Needed

I have managed to scrape together some junk parts I had laying around and put something together. I'm not sure how well it all still works but most of it should still be in great condition, well apart from the case, that's haggard and scratched to hell. I also had to find loads of random silver screws to get parts back in and also some things are missing but meh.

Here it is:

What is in there:

Intel Q6600 Core 2 Quad
Asus P5Q Motherboard
Corsair XMS2 RAM (2x2GB)
XFX Radeon HD 5770
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 500GB HDD
NZXT Phantom

What I need:
PSU
CPU Cooler

What I am asking for is a good cooler and PSU but as cheap as possible. I'd rather have something from a good brand and would also like to avoid OCZ due to the terrible support they have.

Thanks, Antony

I wish I had that kind of 'junk' laying around :D How much do you have to spend for both? A Corsair builder series PSU (around 430w I think) will do you fine, and I've had very good results with the Antec Kuhler 620 on my Q6600.

I was going to suggest those 2 very items :) Maybe go for the 500W corsair and that Khuler 620 will allow a nice overclock on your Q6600. Be a shame not to on a P5Q board :)

I have to add, this is not actually going to be used. It's going to be put together and get it working then I'm going to either try and sell it for a couple of hundred maybe. I want to spend as little as possible due to this, but I still want a good premium PSU.

I also have another Q6600 in the draw if I manage to make a little bit of cash back on this one.

If you really want it as cheap as possible you would be looking at something like this

[YOUR BASKET
1 x Cooler Master Elite Power 500W Power Supply £32.99
1 x Arctic Cooling Alpine 11 GT Rev.2 CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/1155/1156) £4.99
Total : £37.98 (includes shipping : FREE).

You could go even cheaper on the PSU and get one of the OCUK models, but I cannot in all honesty recommend going that cheap on a PSU.

Thanks, I don't want to be buying anything non branded, I just didn't want to go all out buying 500W modular PSUs and stuff like that.

You'll get more money sell it in component form. Especially on this website.

I was hoping to sell it off on here but I'd imagine by the time I reach 1000 posts this stuff would be worthless. I also would prefer to avoid the use of eBay and others like it.

You'll unlikely get a good return if you buy new stuff to sell with it. If you've got the time then selling components separately is probably better as people have said.

Doesn't take long to reach 1000 posts, plenty to talk about in GD and other areas. The MM is worth it especially if you've got stuff to sell.
