Guild Wars 2

I haven't come across any zone yet which is rough or depressing, and nothing was bugged at all on Desolation while I was there.

Anyway, finished Mount Maelstrom last night, have to say the whole Volcano event cycle was pretty impressive.

Love Mount Maelstrom. Did you jump from the Vista at the top? If not you have to, it's a must. Think I hit the ground for 1.2mil+ damage, and landed right in the middle of a bunch of randoms going for the skill point, many lulz were had :p

Indeed I did, couldn't help myself ;)

Still parked near there as I have a story quest to do there before moving on, quietly looking forward to the last Shiverpeaks zone, Frostgorge Sound I think? The Norn areas have definitely been my favourites so far.

I still can't leave a zone without 100%'n it. :(

Just got Fields of Ruin done yesterday, began Blazeridge Steppes with my Engineer. :)

That's one thing I love about GW2 - multiple zones for each level range. Means you're not repeating content for each alt.

I find I usually have to do 2 or 3 zones in each level range in order to make enough levels to move on. I get the feeling if I play an alt I'll be repeating a whole lot of content...

Also, people saying about value for money, what is the mathematical equation to figure out if you've got value for money out of a game?

Take RRP at £49.99 and divide that figure by your play time. For example, my play time right now is 70 hours.

So £49.99/70 = £0.71 :)

Others will have paid less so will get even better "value."

If you are only questing then yes you would need to do this. But if you mix it up with pvp and crafting you dont need to do same level areas repeatedly.

...If you'd have read all my posts, you would have seen that I wasn't saying anything about my money's worth, I'm comparing this to other MMOs I've played. And what this game could have been. I've said all along this is my opinion, and I'm not bashing the game, I'm simply saying "If X and Y were in this game would be a world beater." But I guess that's a hard idea to understand. I have even admitted I went on a bit of a rant and could have worded my original posts better.

I actually agree with Monkey...
I enjoyed leveling to 80, great content; but once I got to 80, I found miself "lost", don't know what to do. I tried sPvP and WvW and didn't really enjoy it, maybe partly because I don't have a group or a guild to do it with. I don't like to grind either and I haven't got the slightest interest of having 100% world explored.
The aspect that interested me the most was the Trinity removal. I was "neutral" to the concept as I wanted to see how it works out at max lvl, dungeons. And...it doesn't; at least from my pov. I've only done 3 dungeons, in story mode and they felt ridiculous. The only strategy is: don't die ! And if you die, just run back and continue fighting... everybody tanks, everybody heals, everybody dies. How would that be enjoyable for me ?! I don't even want to try the explorable version.
I play a warrior and I got 1 shot while playing full dps, then I switched on defensive 1h/shield (healing shouts in full 80 yellows) and I got 2shot. Yay!
My personal opinion/conclusion is, they shouldn't have removed the Trinity. Feels like there's no proper system/tactics...and I hate RNG.
Anyway, I definitely did not expect to be put off so soon; and I definitely haven't rushed to 80. I'll either take a break of it or try and find some incentive to continue, maybe level an alt.
This is my personal opinion and I am well aware most of the people will not agree with it as we all have different styles, expectations and enjoy things in very different ways.

Talking of jumping off cliffs I also did one near the Norn starter area (forget the name)

You can cliff dive from the top of the mountain into water. It's awsome as you actually vanish beneath the surface and have to swim back up :D there was another mountain/lake combo across the other side however I didn't see when looking over the outcrop of rock 3/4 of the way down nor the small patch of earth at the bottom just next to the waters edge. it's right next to a view point as well I think the devs put the rocks and earth there as an "that'll teach you" message. I doubt i'll even finish the don't die before 25K XP bonus hehe

I remember getting to lvl 20 in GW1 pretty much as soon as you leave the starter area (i over exaggerated... a bit). But there was so much to do quest wise following the main story no one really noticed and collecting new skills was a game in its self.

I think thats about the only thing GW2 is missing getting new skills and more dungeons, which we all know will be sorted.

FLEEE! The flames will be coming for you! How dare you bash the content of this game, for it is the most amazing thing ever conceived by man and is nigh on perfection.

The really weird thing about GW2 is that it keeps making me want to resub to Warhammer Online, even though I'd probably be on my own on the server :)

I think I miss the proper loot rewards from the PQs in Warhammer. Getting a gold medal in GW2 just isn't the same, since you know everyone else has gotten one too.

And what is the magic number that represents good value for money? £0.01?

Really? I think I've gone from 20 to 24 in Snowden Drifts. Nearly done with it now, with about half a level to go. I know my engineer got his 5 levels worth out of Kessex hills too.

But aren't they both zones that cover 10 levels? If a level range is 15-25 then I expect to make 10 levels without having to repeat anything (i.e. events) or grind. I've been making 4 or 5 levels in each (what I'm calling) 10 level zone.

I think I'm missing a lot of events as I probably only do around 15-20 (unique) events in each zone (well up to the 15-25 zones, not really got past them yet).
My understanding is that every heart, POI, Vista and quick travel point is placed to lead you to another (set of) event(s). But I'm struggling to find one near every location.

I also really hate events, but realise I have to do them to have any hope of levelling in a zone. To be honest it's not even the events really, it the other players doing them.

Also, why are "Points of Interest" called that? What so interesting at every single POI in the game? To me they seem more like "Exploration Points" as I rarely find anything interesting at them.
