3: What was wrong with it? Engine b@ggered
4: How long did you have it/or how long have you had it? Was returned to garage several times to be "fixed" in the end we had to get trading standards involved. It would use ALL the engine oil in a 35 mile trip to work.
5: What did you replace it with?. Opel Kadet - Old 4 speed gearbox, old W plate - loved that car!

My wifes punto auto.
A few hundred
crap engine that kept blowing head gaskets, being a punto

1. 1999 Ford Expedition XLT
2. $4000
3. 8 Seats was handy, but it turned out it had been clocked after looking at the records so it was taken back to the dealer. 99,000 miles on odometer, but 220,000 in the records! Also seemed to have a dodgy autobox.
4. 2 or 3 days
5. A different Expedition which also turned out to be a lemon, so changed mind completely and went for a 2000 Mustang GT.

1: Vauxhall Vectra B 2.5 SRI
2: About 8 grand
3: Just never gelled with it. Think there was something wrong with a mass flow sensor as well as acceleration curve had a dip in it. Being in it as it nearly killed me put me off it a bit too.

4: 1.5 years
5: MR2 Rev3 Turbo

1: MG Metro Turbo in British Racing Green. (I still love it and would buy another in a heart beat).
2: £400 I think around the year 2000
3: Drove it for a week, and I didn't smoke smiling... epic grin. My first turbo car. After the first week, something stopped working, and at that time turbo's were a black art to me coming from mini's. Never felt right for a long time, and then one day I was going down the motorway and heard a massive bang (I was doing 40 in a 40). Masses of smoke and turns out I punched the conrod through the block. The engine is still buried in the front garden!! lol. (I then turbo'd a non-turbo MG 1300 engine with the bits and ran it for a year lol before scrapping it).
4: 2 years I think.
5: Nissan Primera 1.6 LS (My parents old car.. reliable as hell, until I sold it, and one week later the rear brakes seized on the new owner lol).

Talking of metros:
Austin metro GTA in yellow and black: Front wheel fell off after shearing the bolts, when I had to sell it the next day.
MG Metro 1300 in white: caburettor kept seizing up/losing oil, I then took 4 friends to the gym, we went over a speed bump that wasn't bolted down.. it lifted the car up, and bent the entire rear beam. It eventually got picked up by the council.
MG Metro 1.3: I can't even remember how I managed to buy it.. and I can't even remember what happened to it. Oh wait... I stole the engine from it for the MG Metro turbo lol, and then scrapped it hehehe.

1: 1993 Rover Metro 1.1s (first car)
2: £800
3: Ran so rich that it would stall coming off of slipways to traffic lights due to flooding, central locking didnt work, fans only worked on full blast, clutch was nearly completely gone, calipers were in need of a proper refurb (pulled to the left on braking), rust on the roof, arches etc, was long ago and cant remember the rest
4: had it for 1 year
5: replaced it with a bmw 325 coupe e36

the metro was a POS but it was mine, paid for on £3.27ph at safeway from the age of 16 to 18 during A levels, it had red seatbelts, a tachometer, a rubber rear window spoiler and a 5th gear over my mates 1.1 rio, "in yo' face!" :D

2: £400
3: Offside front shock had blown so had no damping at all, plus the P/S pump had a crack on it so ******* out fluid at quite a rate, went through 2 bottles of fluid in 4 weeks, apart from that it was in brilliant condition considering its age.
