Bin those requirements, get yourself down to sports direct and select one od their finest (golf) manbrellas for 3 quid. Job done

An obnoxious umbrella? Lol

All umbrellas are obnoxious.

They're covered in metal spikes

You can't see where you're going

You take up as much room as a hugely fat person

You suddenly forget that anyone else in the world exists

You magically manage to hold it at everyone's eye level at once (I don't even know how that works)

Then the wind blows and the whole thing self destructs

I decided to go on a quest to find the ultimate umbrella earlier this year as I had tried so many before and they had all been rubbish when faced with the cruel scottish wind. I had tried expensive fulton umbrellas... none have lasted... in the end I was buying a number of £1 poundland umbrellas that would last the walk to and from work and then be binned (it actually worked out cheaper!).

I stumbled across a dutch company called Senz that make aerodynamically shaped, wind tunnel tested umbrellas. I decided to get one of the mini compact ones so I it could be deployed as required rather than carrying a brolly around all the time. Tbh, it was one of the best umbrellas i've ever had! It cut through the wind, stood fast and I was impressed!

Then the wind noticed the brolly seemed invincible and must have concluded I was taking the p*ss, so after one week of walking into work the wind flipped round suddenly (I could have sworn in the roar I heard a "get this up ye!!" and from the back it flipped it and snapped it.

You may fair better down with the southern wind, but currently my battle with the scottish wind and rain continues - one day I will find my excalibur umbrella!

You should be able to find the compact ones for £25 odd on a certain auction site.
