Ok, humour me with this one.

I'm not superstitious, but is it possible that XX13 plate vehicle sales will suffer because of the association with the number?

If so, I expect to pick up a very cheap XX13 plate something or other at the end of next year

DVLA have said, for those that are superstitious of the number 13, that they will carry on issuing 62 plates upon request. :rolleyes:

Now I would think having an August 2013 62 plate car would be worth ever so slightly less than an August 2013 13 plate car.

This is one of those things,

I would love to believe it will make no difference at all, we are all sensible human beings right?

But I know in reality, people are stupid, and thus expect to see "30% Drop in new car sales as everyone winges about 13 plate" for no good reason at all.

Anyone who can afford a 13 plate car can get a private reg so doubt it.

Which is why I used the term "reliable source" rather than "insider"

Two things have therefore become apparent:

1) you like people inside you
2) my source was unreliable (although he was actually talking about his dealership rather than Infinity as a whole)

Anyway, i think it will affect sales - but probably not by a whole bunch. There are a load of superstitious morons out there.

And let's face it, there are people out there whole buy brand new £30,000 cars because the car tax is low, which shows there are a lot of "slow" people out there.

I imagine it will affect sales somewhat, and that the 62 plate thing will see some uptake.
