The Road.

It's probably the most depressing film I've seen.

Wasn't the self sacrifice one the original ending in the cinema? I remember only seeing the other one after, on blu ray

The other one should have been the original ending but test audiences weren't happy with it so it was changed

I watched a German film a couple of weeks back called "Hell"

Oooh, yeah! Dark City is superb! I would never have thought of it for this category, but actually it fits quite well. And it's excellent!

I never knew there was an alternate ending

I hated I am Legend in the cinema solely because of the gash self sacrifice ending.

The alternate ending does exist, it's up on YT.

I'm fairly sure the US version of the DVD has a version of the movie with the alternate ending cut in, I could be wrong though.

The alternate ending completely changes the feel of the movie:

The twist is that he (smith) is the monster, he hunts them during the day the same as a vampire hunts at night. They simply want their own back and to be left alone as they have evolved into their own kind of society. He is the legend that they are afraid of.

Whats the film where the guy looks to the sky at the end of the movie and sees saturn or a smilar planet rising over the horizon in place of the moon?
