Hope you get it sorted asap, I still haven't got my new rig setup yet, shocking I know! I'm just braiding my new Haf X case, can't stand bare wires on anything lol.
I'll have it done very soon and get clocking.
@Nickolp1974,
Is that the fastest your lightning would go?
Some do some dont, nothing in it really, and price, likewise now, so basically pick your favourite team.
Although 680 lightning is £65 more, but other custom pcb's are available for less.
After all this fiasco with Nvidia giving it the big one about not covering warranty with overvolting, wish I had now bought the MSI 7970 Lightning instead of the GTX 680 Lightning.
Thing is though from what i have read, if you wanna max both cards, nvidia voltage capped, so air is fine, amd can use water and gain more hz but afterburner maxes at 1.35v unless you can miraculously get the extreme version. So your limited either way. Must be a little more fun though with the 7970 being able to push it that little bit further
1208 on a lightning = poor, must have been a faulty card, 1350/1950 here and I know stonerdude is around the same speed as me too.
Edit: The 7970 Lightning price is VERY low for retail at the moment, a few months ago it was £450...
You should ask that Svet on the MSI forums, he's a Moderator on there and also a computer wizard with motherboard and graphics card BIOS!!pgi947 said:Its 1.35v afterburner, 1.362v actual
But yeah, its going to take some crafty work to get that unlocked version of afterburner for higher voltages, all I want for xmas is 1.4v on my Lightning![]()
Yeah, I read about that, kinda sad they take away the warranty.pgi947 said:I'll take a look into that cheers nelly
If I go the official route I need to be a proven overclocking with sub amb temps and sign away my warranty out of fear I'll cram 1.8v through it![]()
What in my sig?? No. Thats stock. max 1208/1850, and it does have a problem which is why its gone back
You maybe just have hot VRM's, water should sort that![]()
I don't know if anybody has mentioned it, but Nvidia are better for drivers.
