Her Majesty Indoors wants an electric toothbrush...I have no idea what the hell to get her and what ones are good or not...it needs to be good for sensitive gums and have a timer and probably knowing her all the ringading stuff that no-one actually uses...I have looked at the Oral B Trizone 3000/5000 and the Philips Sonic-care range without much idea of what I am really looking at...being oldskool I just use a normal toothbrush.

Budget up to about £100 or thereabouts...if there is a real difference then I can go higher.

So Ocuk spec me a toothbrush.

Braun Oral-B Triumph 5000. It's been renamed several times over the years and they're great brushes. The screen tells you how long you have brushed for and also doubles as a digital clock for the bathroom. I've had one for several years and charge it about once a week, brushing for around 3 minutes twice a day. I know it's a lot to spend on a toothbrush but they give your teeth a really good clean.

Definitely a Sonicare brush. I very rarely go to the dentist, but when I do they always ask if i use an electric brush as my teeth are in pretty good nick (touch wood!). So I think I can owe most of that to my trusty brush (seeing as I eat lots of sugary crap!):D

There's various models so i'm sure you can find one at the price you're looking at (don't bother with the pointless ultraviolet brush cleaner thingies.... lol)

What this man said, mine is about 3 years old, battery is starting to die and i'm having to charge it every few days, but nothing a new battery won't sort out.

I didn't realise that there was a way to replace the battery but I've just read that it can be done. Is the battery a 4/5A?

I've looked at that one, seemed like the ideal one but wasn't sure about whether it was VFM.

This is good advice, you will find this brush at half price somewhere, they are usually 160, but sell for 80 somewhere, all the time, the offer moves around.

Sonicare are good brushes but more like marmite, she will either love or hate it, everyone loves the braun.

I have just got my hands on the (new?) colgate proclinical c200. I had been using a cheapy braun (circlular head style), but the colgate is much more refined and gentle and yet still cleans very well. It has a timer as well. Definitely check it out. ~£30 at boots atm (half price).
