Bus driver uppercuts unruly female passenger.

If a woman started spitting and shoving me id have done the same, women always complain that they want equal rights so they can have equal rights to a slap in the chops as well.

If the driver was a woman and the passenger was a man the passenger would be looking at jail time.
 
She was obviously scum, and got what was coming to her. If you go around spitting on people, you have to expect that it's going to end like this once in a while. Re. the equal-rights thing, if the genders were reversed the driver would probably be getting huge admiration, make money from TV appearances etc.

Got to love the fact that he didn't just throw a right cross or something 'regular', he went for a full-on uppercut :D As others have said, I'm pretty impressed that she got up so quickly!
 
She got knocked the **** out, well not really as she kept coming back for me.

Well deserved and lol at the people sympathising with the silly bint:p. No sympathy for her from me, just a shame the driver lost his job over it :/
 
She got up from it because the guy is old, 59 he's not far off retirement.

She's 25, and likely pushed all his buttons in the wrong way, she probably gave way more abuse than can be seen from the footage, it had probably been going on for a while before someone got a phone camera out.

Was a uppercut a bit much (despite it doing nothing to her) maybe, it could have caused serious injury but under the circumstances was he wrong for hitting a women, hell no. She deserved it.

In fact I know plenty of women that could not only take a beaten but could easily knock 7 shades of poop out of most men. You think you'd just stand still and take it, doubt it.

The incident was actually broken up by the police who too witness statements and reports, neither the driver or the chav filed charges against each other. It was only the release of the video which got the driver suspended.

When cops responded to the stopped bus around 4 PM, Hughes and three passengers described Lane (pictured at right) as the incident's aggressor. Hughes told cops that Lane initially boarded the bus without paying, claiming, "I left my bookbag."

Hughes said that after Lane, a restaurant employee, eventually paid her fare, she told him, "You a Bitch and Your Momma's a Bitch Too!" She also reportedly stated, "Keep talking about me and I will spit on you!"

In a written statement, Hughes recalled that Lane "grabbed me in the throat and spit on me in the face." In response, the driver said he stopped the bus, "and I protected myself." The Hughes statement does not reveal that he hit Lane squarely in the jaw with a bolo punch that knocked her to the ground.

One witness told cops that a "drunk" Lane "got on the bus fliping out" and "started talking crazy" to Hughes. After spitting on Hughes, the witness wrote in a statement, the driver "did what he had to do."

A second witness wrote that Lane was "loud and obnoxious" from the start, and spit on Hughes and "started hitting him." The witness added, "That's when he hit her back." A third witness described Lane as "drunk" and reported that "she hit him and he jumped out of his seat and started fighting her."

When first interviewed by cops, Hughes said he was willing to prosecute Lane. But a week after the incident, he called a police detective to report that he "did not wish to pursue prosecution of the female suspect." He subsequently signed a "Refuse to Prosecute Form."

Lane was not arrested at the scene. In fact, following the confrontation, she was transported to the restaurant where she works by police officers.

According to her Facebook page, Lane, the mother of a four-year-old girl, loves "2 go to church," and considers herself "a people person." In a May posting, Lane wrote that she was trying to get “famous and rich,” and referred to “being shot and stabbed in ma face,” which “prolly messed me up from tryin to model.”

You are aware that that video is a very small amount of the entire incident right? People wouldnt have started recording it right from the start.

Maybe not assault, but she is very clearly abusing him. I dont have any sympathy for people who think they can go around treating people who are doing their jobs like that and get away with it.

People are blowing the whole "man hitting woman" thing a bit out of proportion here - he was 59 years old, hardly in his physical peak. I imagine it would probably have been a pretty even scrap.

Personally I think the guy did what we would all want to do in that situation. She is quite obviously scum of the highest order, and I imagine that after 22 years of working in that job, putting up with crap on a day to day to basis he just snapped. Good on him, I'd buy him a beer.
 
I was watching a US TV channel not long back and there was an advert with Obama/Biden and a bunch of other celebrities telling men that they shouldn't hit women, it must be a fairly common thing over there.
