Carcraft Finance

I want a newer car max a couple of years old but don't want to be blowing £6K+ outright. Just want something with low monthly repayments.

I want a Ferrari too, sometimes what we want isn't affordable without doing stupid things. In this case, buying a Spark for £6k but paying back £10k very much qualifies as a 'stupid thing'.

Why not get something a bit older but from a main dealer with a used approved warranty and spend only £5k using a bank loan.

With about £1700 deposit Chevrolet will give you a new Spark for £148 a month.

Andi.

This is quite literally true - you can have a brand new Spark 1.2 LT (top trim level I think?) for £1,755 deposit and £149 per month for 60 months.

Getting a 2 year old lower trim version for the same money is absolutely stupidity.

Better off getting a couple of 0% credit cards and doing it that way. I did with my recent car purchase. 16 months interest free.

This only works if:

a) You can find a dealer willing to not shaft you over using credit cards - it costs them anything up to 3% in merchant fees
b) You are confident of being able to not only apply for multiple 0% cards but aso get sufficient credit limits to buy a car
c) You are confident of being able to easily apply for new cards in 16 months time (But dont forget the balance transfer fee), or having the cash to pay the balance off.

Most people who are forced into the clutches of places like that in the OP will have quite a lot of difficulty with b) and c).

Very true. I guess I was lucky getting the amount I needed on one card and no mention of any fees.

If the dealer didn't mention any fees then he simply charge you more than you'd otherwise have been able to negotiate on the car and absorbed them, you never get anything for free with dealers :p

The Spark isn't that bad!
Yes, it's ****, but it's better than expected!

Searching for a £6k car, a spark would not even be thought of. Infact I think this is the first time a spark as ever been brought up on OcUK motors.

Really? For 6k + that horrible finance deal?
There are a huge amount of great cars around for sub 6k if you can sort the finance yourself.
