was just wondering, does anyone have any recommendations on a really quiet PSU? ive currently got a coolermaster TX 750v2 and the thing is the loudest part of my pc by a country mile, ive had it less than 3 months but its starting to tick me off, i even moved the system into a cupboard and its still way too loud, i dont particuarly need 750w, but nothing below 600w.

Something like a Corsair AX series or Seasonic X series that feature the hybrid fan control?

Are the Corsair Gaming Series PSU's any good? Supposed to be silent (fan not spinning) until the fan is needed.

Should hopefully keep your system very quiet.

thanks all, think i might go for the AX750,
I didnt buy my tx750 from here, but wondering if i can get a direct refund based on the fact its definately not as advertised.
An ultra-quiet, 140mm double ball-bearing fan delivers excellent airflow with exceptionally low noise levels by varying fan speed in response to temperature

its twice as loud as the crappy old arctic power it replaced

My TX850 is loud, not sure if this is standard or if there's something wrong with the controller, I'm not impressed in the slightest :(

according to all the reviews it seems to be standard in all the v2 revisions but yea im really not impressed either.

I got a refund for mine because it was anything but quiet, as soon as it was under load the controller couldn't decide whether the fan should be on or off so it spent most of the time producing an extremely irritating tick/buzz

My XFX 850 XXX isn't billed as being quiet or silent yet I can't hear it even when loaded as far as I can currently take it.

Disappointing to read that, is that a common issue with them? I was thinking of getting one as I liked the silent mode on it considering most of the time my computer isn't gaming, but I wouldn't like that sort of noise when it does get used for games.

So the 'Corsair CMPSU-750AXUK Professional Series Gold 750W Power Supply' is no good then ?

Says who:( - http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=236

The Good:
80 Plus Gold efficiency.
Quiet operation, even when at full load.
Fully modular cabling.
Good voltage regulation
Great ripple suppression excluding the +5VSB oddity we seen in CL2.

The Bad:
Nothing that concerns us here.

The Mediocre:
Decent value, but still has some competition.
Mixed bag of tricks with the cables.

That's the one I got, can't say anything bad about it.
Only thing I can think of, is the cabels are a bit weird, so if you wish nice looking cable management, I'd suggest buying other cabels.
