NorthEast UK Folk - Get In Here.

I always thought Harbor Lights was a restaurant and not a pub? Might have to check it out, makes a change from our usual haunt, either the Steamboat or the County.

The Harbour Lights is a good place. Been done up too.

Its now owned by folk who run the Crabshack I think.

It serves nice food aswell but its definitely a pub too cos Im pretty regular there when home :)

I used to quite like a few beers down the Steamboat and Mill Dam.

'NE meet' possible locations

York
Durham
Newcastle
Whitley bay

I could do York, Durham or Newcastle, i suppose i could do Whitley bay too but that's more than a train ride for me. that's a train and a bus, or 2 trains!

Durham is good but Newcastle is better and has good transport links from all around. Admittedly Durham isn't much worse in that regard, just has less variety of bars and whatnot.

I'd do York.

I can get some rather fabulous accommodation at massively discounted rates, it's not that much of a drive, I know my way around it and I bloody love the place.

Vote for York here.

Well i'd do York too, and i'd be happy to help plan a meet but i don't know where's best in York like to meet and to end up if you know what i mean. So if you fancy helping me (or anyone else) i'll happily assist to organise an official meet thread, and York is so pretty in winter too so apart from the risk of snow / ice for drivers, Jan / Feb would be ideal. So guys, get your input in here and i'll start an official meet thread once we have some kind of itenerary / plan together :)

(I have arranged a couple of motors meets on here in the past which have been very successful too btw)

It's a bit silly meeting in York when the majority are much farther North. Newcastle for me, new year as well and I'm game. I'd say ocukers only as well, make us anti social geeks socialise :D

Also Hedge, I'm loving the gutterball love. Few shandies and gutterball is a laugh, would never do it if I was single and on the look out though :p
