Sony Vaio - Duo

I really like the Duo 11, but I am unsure to wait for the Surface Pro or not.

Not a bad price at all.
You do realize keyboard doesn't separate? Making it a bit useless IMO.

Lets hope some of the i5/i7 tablets are around that price point.

Yea. That was my only concern with it, I may pop down the Sony Centre and see how it feels hands on. However, it does have the 3G built in which I do find useful.

I also find 3G built in usefull and there are several i5/7 tablets that will have it built in.

18mm depth so almost twice that of most tablets.

A uk supplier has the acer Iconia w700 on sale at 598.99 for the 64Gb i3 version or 731.97 with keyboard dock. Not bad prices at all.

No official uk price yet though.

That's a bit pricey considering it's $800 in the US including the keyboard and dock.

Somewhere else has it for £610.98 including keyboard and dock, says due for release tomorrow.

It's also got the W510 32GB with dock for £508.98 and W510 64GB with dock for £559.98 if anyone's interested.

I know but what were they thinking with that dock?

Which dock? The slide in desk dock? I want a tablet with that. Keep mouse/keyboard and monitor always attached to dock, slide in tablet when you're at desk.

Ohh even better, goes off to search for that price.

Wonder how much the keyboard dock is.

I heard that Acer won't sell the W700 without keyboard/dock.

Unless your talking about the W510, which is $499 in US without keyboard dock so i'd guess the dock costs £100.

There's two types of docks though. The slide In dock with separate keyboard and the keyboard dock.
Unless separate dock and keyboard is w700 only and keyboard dock is 510 only. If that's the case, that would suck.

AFAIK that is the case, the W700 is apparently so heavy (>1kg) that Acer didn't bother making a clamshell style keyboard dock for it as it would fall over constantly (the Android powered Transformers already do this a bit and they're less than 600g). The W510 dock doesn't fit as it has a smaller screen and completely different docking connectors.

That's sucks, that's another tablet off the list then, needs a keyboard and touch pad MS solution would be absolutely fine, stand and thin keyboard.

Yeah I knew they weren't cross compatible, but there's a fair few pictures labeled as w70 with clamshell keyboard.

Really starting to think for me a win7 stop gap tablet is way forward and wait for haswell and hopfully a few refinements.

As allready said series 7 can be had for good price and probably fall a fair bit more in a week or two.

Saw one go for £460 on the bay yesterday, 64gb with dock and keyboard. Keyboard did have some raised keys but still cracking deal.

No idea and not particular bothered. Anything will be faster than the CPU in my desktop e6300
Gfx is a bit more of a concern, but less so on a stop gap tablet.
Sure plenty of reviews out their for the 3000hd.
