So are all phone prices gonna tumble now?

I'm hopeful that the One X+ will be available for a decent cost as 64gb would be lovely storage wise - which is possible now but with two separate 32gb storage options (built in and a micro SDHC card) ...

It's great to see such a well specced phone available for so little compared to other high end devices though - like said though it'll be interesting to see how/if google plans to charge for other services instead!

it *should* cause the SIM Free phone market to come down in price. At least in android terms, because who in there right mind would pay £450 for a like minded device over the nexus4

This setup will obviously work better in other countries, we are just less fortunate currently. Assuming more than one device goes this way then there's certainly an interesting time ahead for SIM-O deals.

Google Music gives you free space for up to 20,000 purchased or your own tracks uploaded, and with an unlimited data plan from Three available SIM only for £9.90 a month then why do you need more? :)

Where is the £9.90 deal?

I have just canceled my o2 contract this morning to change over to something with unlimited data. So probably looking at Three. I think its my only choice

You've got to bear in mind you can already pick up the likes of the S3 for around £380 and personally I'd happily pay that extra for the expandable storage and removable battery.

I can see maybe the likes of Motorola and HTC dropping theirs by a bit, by much.......no.

I can't see Samsung dropping theirs at all tbph, as I said before, they are just like apple now with regards to their business practice! :p

Although I hope I am wrong and from now on, prices for flagships devices will be around this, as £400+ really is a rip of especially when these phones only cost like £120-150 to make iirc.

There is a 12 month £6.90 on three sim only, then just add unlimited data for £3 a month.

Don't forget topcashback too!

Who cares about the Galaxy S3? It could retail for £200 and I'd still get the Nexus tbh!

I'll cripple myself with 8GB for that hardware and software combo :p (Smell ya later OEM skins!)

why wouldnt they just release a 64GB or expandable storage? if the idea is to sell as many products as possible surely it is a no brainer?

Its not even like adding extra storage is difficult. If i lived in an area where i knew i would get reception 100% of the time i would go for the 16GB, but i will not be walking around only to have my music cut out.

i think a phone will need to be sub 150£ for me to consider 16GB again, cpu/gpu/camera etc all rank lower on my priorites list. In fact the only things more important to me are... Screen size/quality, notification LED spec, design/weight/size/shape and battery life

They want people to start using their online services more, its the future, or will be in 5 years time!

Yep, £5pm for the rest of your life is a lot of money. (assuming it's a pita to swap 100GB+ to another service)

I wonder how this'll effect iPhone pricing? You can get TWO 8GB Nexus 4s with £50 for the Google Play/Amazon store for ONE 16GB iPhone 5!

Shame MS couldn't do the same with the Surface/Lumia 920, RT/WP8 is going to struggle in 2013...
