Car manufacturers phase out spare tyres

Its pretty much already happened - none of my more modern cars ( 2007, 2x 2009) have had spares, the kits that come with the cars are largely useless too, diy plug tyoe kits are much better though obviously useless if you have a serious failure

To be honest for the price of things like the AA and RAC etc I don't mind. No way I'm going to change my wheel on the side of a motorway or busy road anyway...

try a pitch black country lane with no lights on it... That was fun!

Flat tyre.. No spare...

I'll just drive the damn thing on the rim if I have to.

Saying that though I've never had a pucture/blowout on the highway in 22 years.
(probably have one tomorrow now!!!!! )

My 2008 Yaris has a spare :p

It means the already small boot has got even smaller as a result !

I saw a car once going along on two space saver spare wheels.

a) where the hell did he get the second one from

b) how was finding another space saver less effort than getting new tyres

c) how long was he driving on one space saver to get ANOTHER puncture?

My mind literally boggled. I mean it made an actual 'boggle' noise that could be heard outside of my head.

Another advantage to running an old car! Got a full size alloy and tyre as a spare in the boot.

Don't think my mates car has a spare tyre. Just an SOS button for if it breaks down :D

No spare on my 3 series and ive ditched the run flats.

Got a compressor and a can of tyreweld in the boot. Compressor if the puncture isnt too fast, tyre weld if it is fast. If its a big hole its the AA :D
