Hey, just curious as to what some of you console gamers play on? Im after a new (affordable) TV but not sure what to go for as ive heard some have really bad input lag etc. Can anyone reccomend some good ones for me from your experiences? thanks

I got a new 47" LG LED at the weekend, and it's lovely to game on. The only issue is that the grey of the Xbox dashboard (when pressing the guide button) seems a bit washed out, but I haven't really played with any settings yet to get the most out of the TV.

I currently game on a 42 inch panasonic plasma which is now 3 years old, i suffer no image retention/screen burn, though some tv's do suffer from it, luck of the draw tbh.

Im considering upgrading though to a LG 47'' led as value for money its greats, and has impressed me in the viewings ive had with it.

get a 23" monitor 5.1 logitech speakers and get a VGA cable for your xbox/ps3.

no point getting a 50 inch tv to play at a resolution native to a 18" monitor.

bigger the TV the more stretched the image is, thus lower image quality.

Not if you want to play 2 player, sit more than a foot away from the tv! Though 5.1 is amazingiI agree there.

Panasonic plasma 46" gt30 here, 3d too. I do get IR but it's not an issue and soon goes. A lot of HUDs are translucent now which also helps. But for me the nicest thing is the 5.1 system I have. Especially the rear speakers.. Can hear something creeping up behind (though this did cost way more than the tv)

no you just get desktop 5.1. mine cost £40 they come with an adapter to hook up to your xbox. before i had those i had it hooked up to my stereo which which neat.

Plasma here, also have a panny gt30 but the 50 inch version. If you're going with other brands I'd stick to LCD/LED.

Do plasma's still get major screen burn?

I have a 50" LG plasma and ive never noticed screen burn at all with it.

Even then just have to go in to some settings and display random colour/black white patterns and its cured (never used)

And longest ive played borderlands2 is about 17hours and still nowt if i leave the game for a break i turn the tv off

Not sure if you're joking, as that's some ridiculous comments!

Screen size and pixels mean squat unless you take in to account distance, and most people would rather play on a comfy sofa I'd imagine!

Get an LCD/LED tv, not a plasma ideally, bigger the better!

this really, i have a 26" in my room and most new games i can barely read the text as it has clearly been designed to be viewed on a much larger screen, battlefield is terrible for this.

i am serious.

the smaller the better in terms of image quality.

find a happy medium.

or go for 50" of complete blur and mess up your eyes from squinting.

LOL you do realise the viewing distance for a 50" is going to have to be far greater than a 22" screen?
