The above might be irrelevant if you can afford a 60D, anyway.
How about applying for an interest free credit card?
I recently moved my debt to a Barclaycard on a 23month 0% offer, with a 2.5% handling fee. Will save me a huge amount of money.
If you're not already nut-deep in debt and can genuinely afford it, this might be the way to go. Apply for the card first, then use another credit card to make the purchase (assuming you have one) then balance transfer the funds across.
I feel like I shouldn't be offering this advice, as I don't want you spend what you haven't got, but it'd be better than getting a small loan or leaving it on a high APR credit card.
I badly want a super telephoto (i.e. 400mm F2.8 IS II) but there is no way I can in anyway justify trying to buy one..can't believe they are £7k!!
Maybe when I retire...
I want to rent one next time I go on holiday to experience one
Is the padding at the bottom of the bag decent then if you have the lens taking the camera's weight when its in that orientation?
You could get one if you dropped the need for F2.8

"nappy bag" made me laugh out loud

You soon realise how this bag is on a whole new level of quality and comfort compared to Lowepro. The strap is absolutely amazing and even all day use you barely notice the weight.
Was tempted by a 300 F4 actually, seems like a good balance

I did have a 100-400mm briefly, did not like it, was not sharp enough wide open.
It's fantastic, there are padded dividers that go along the bottom that you can remove to fold the bag down, or put in to keep it both rigid and safe for the camera.
I've never liked Lowepro bags as they are just cheaply made and I'd rather know that my thousands of pounds of kit was safe. I don't feel the weight anyway, you've not seen what I carry for jobs (2 bodies, lots of glass, few flashes, tripod and a whole lot of extras).
For the price of a new 300 f4 you might as well get a second hand 70-200 and put an adaptor on it.
Just save yourself £150 and get a Mk 2 TC. I use one with a 70-200 mk2 after reading the difference with the Mk3 aren't worth it on a 70-200.
Can you post some examples you have got with the TC?
Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Glidetrack should be arriving soon too!
What's the best way to test if a monitor is calibrated and if it isn't how to go about it?
Cheers
The 85mm 1.4 got massive loving at the exhibition today, all the people I spoke to who were into photography loved its weight, sharpness and image quality.
I love this lens![]()
