**The Official Nokia Lumia 800 Thread***

I've picked up a Lumia 800 as I fancied a change from Android and to have a test of WP before WP8 and my contract renewal in Jan 2013.
I love the interface, slickness and general feel of it but I do have a couple of possible dealbreakers if these aren't fixed in WP8:
No repeating text alerts
No customisation of text and email alerts
Sound profiles, when I want to be alerted of calls and texts but not emails, easy toggle between ring/ring&vibrate/vibrate only/silent etc.
I'm using the battery save mode as a workaround, but this deactivates when it's on mains to recharge, and night time on the bedside table is when I've always recharged my phones...

Does anyone know of any workarounds on these issues?

None that I know of sorry.
I think ths sounds and customisation side of things has ALL Been completely redone.
Another annoying thing you will discover is how the volume of your headphones controls the ringer volume as well..

The Lumia 800 is currently on offer for one week only at Carphone W. for 12.50 per month with Talk Mobile(Vodaphone).
Can anyone offer any advice me on this network or deal. Its 250mins 5000 texts and 500mb data. Sounds good?

Thanks in advance
p.s im aware its windows 7.8

It depends how much you use, the data and texts seem ok but it depends how much you talk.

The phone itself is awesome, music, satnav offline maps & Camera is worth it in itself. however the marketplace will be subsided by WP8, even though 7.5 will get the new look, anything new will be WP8 in all probability.

Still an excellent phone

ok Thanks Sinny, deals gone now, so will have to think now about the 800 or 820. But 820's not out anytime soon. Try and look for further deals on this. Thanks

But anybody else having prolems with general use of the Internet on the phone

I get a H next to my signal which i have now found out its meant to be better then 3g like 3.5g yet i try open a web page i get to 3/4 on the bar and it sits there as if it just freezes

I am fully up to date on the updates or dont get nothing telling me its not up to date ?

I seem to just have become disillusioned with the phone at present, the Twitter app is shocking, trying to upload a photo but possibly due to my above network issue with the H (i have named this Hospital mode....) and random jumping to 3g G and limitied.

Oh to add to the above i work in London all day so would expect my signal to be stable

I am on the orange network by the way

Sorry for rant but i think i am just in need of steam release as i think the phone has so much promise

I work just off baker street and my work phone is on Orange and the data connection is unusable.
When i get home, gsm is OK, but 3G is still unusable.
It was so bad I gave up and bought a personal phone on Vodafone and the 3G everywhere has been rock solid.

It's by far a better phone, but the price he would've got it for I'm assuming that was his budget which you won't get the 820 for.

Just a quick question for you 800 owners, can you turn down the volume of music/videos and the ringtone volume remains the same? On my 710 its all the same volume level so I have to constantly remember to turn it back up so I can hear calls or my alarm etc. Just will wondering if its a Nokia quirk or just the 710.

Its just how WP7 works and is a feature I personally like, although I know there are some who don't.

Just got one of these as a cheap temp phone, sold my one x and got my money back and was waiting to get a sim free cid compat for JB one so thought I would try one of these. I'm very impressed with the fluidity of the thing, only real problem I have is I cant sync with our exchange server (certificate problem or something that is way beyond me) other than that its really good phone, the lack of certain apps is a little dissapointing hopefully that will get better with wp8, which I may end up going for after trying a lumia 800

My better half's phone does not want to play music now using her zune pass, it seems to say it is having trouble verifying her zune pass. Anybody know how to fix this without deleting and re-syncing all the music?
