What about the unloved child of the A3 range, the 3.2 V6 Quattro?

Not a huge performance difference, and they make a great sound.

these are essentially a Golf R32 aren't they? They just fill me with "meh" though. Poor economy and nose heavy apparently?

For me it's a close call between Focus, Civic (championship ed), and the clio.

BMW NO, Scirocco NO, and the Scoob and Mistu are just bottom of the barrel for me IMHO...

To overtake things and to get anywhere up to speed you have to thrash it, like dropping a few gears, and that gets tiresome. There are newer hot hatches that it just can't keep up with. It's down to what you want from it I guess. The FN2 is great in the twisties, but expect to be embarrassed by all manner of things at the lights. Now if you were to grace yourself with a turbocharged FN2 that would be a whole different ball game

Does it have to be a hatch though? I'd desire a nice 330 as already suggested any day.
