Really liking the current season (5) - they've played the couple thing pretty well thus far, plenty of great little moments played out in each episode. The latest one (The Final Frontier - ep6) just had to be the best in a long while - murder at a sci-fi convention ... barely needs an explanation but man is it a great episode!

Lots of great little hints to Firefly for starters (obviously) and then the cameo from Quark off Star Trek DS9 :D The bit when he bumps into his daughter and the comments that come after that were so true! ("what has been seen cannot be unseen") ... It's a great show in that it knows it doesn't come across as serious - has its more serious moments yes but overall is very light hearted and funny - with plenty of great moments between Esposito & Ryan to boot :D

Anyone else enjoying Season 5 - or just Castle in general!

I think Castle is a great show but I just don't get her. I don't see she's as attractive as people seem to think (though i wouldn't kick her out of bed if she was prepared to really slum it).

His mother really annoys me and I hate her scenes. His daughter can be annoying as well.

I totally get her!!

Agree the mother can be annoying but otherwise its a great easy watching show. Always one of the first I catch whenever I have time for tv.

I'd never seen Castle until the start of the year when I got came across the pilot episode on some random Sky channel. I enjoyed it and now i'm up to date. My favourite episode of S5 was the 3XK episode - I've been waiting for them to continue that storyline!

Yes! the triple killer is a great bad guy - he's got to still be alive :o

I don't mind the daughter so much anymore - she's on less and less now and the mother too - although from the first season 5 years ago his daughter has "improved" somewhat and the latest episode is testament to that due in part to his response ;)

Still love watching this show, it's simple but fun. Season 5 has definitely been a marked improvement over S4 which was for the most part, a little too dark and emotional for my liking. I think their decision to bring Castle and Beckett together and have some sort of conclusion to Beckett's mothers case was a god send as they were getting a little too carried away with the heavy drama and 'will they, won't they' nonsense, for what is essentially light hearted comedy.

The last episode was brilliant though, especially for a Firefly fan (or sci-fi fan period).

It was directed by Jonathan Frakes aka Commander Will Riker :D Helps when the director and actors know all about what goes on at conventions.

It's just a great bit of easy viewing and being a big Nathan Fillion fan means I can look past any of the rubbish

Mothers annoying
The Esposito and Ryan partnership can be annoying as well.

For what is essentially a Formula Tv Show, it is very good and has done well across 5 seasons to keep it refreshing. Castle & Beckett being together already is a fantastic pay off and they wrote it relatively well.

Loved the latest episode, although I had to sit there and explain some of it to my family as to why I was grinning so much through that episode. There are only so many things you can explain to people who don't get the references!

Castle is great, it's stayed consistently enjoyable even with the Castle-Beckett thing going on, something I was worried would ruin things. Compared to something like Bones, which went noticeably downhill after the third/fourth season.

Plus Molly Quinn is gorgeous, especially in the most recent episode. :)

Been enjoying seasion 5 (as above you can get it on iTunes) back to easy watching not taking itself too seriously, around season 3/4 it bogged down a bit and I lost interest.

Kudos to the show for handling the relationship well so far. Always difficult to go from maintaining the will they? won't they? thing to having them together.

Yup so many shows I've lost interest after that point, chuck and the big bang theory handled it fairly well as well I'm not certain how much longer they can keep it going in castle tho but its been well handled so far.

I dunno...despite being a massive Chuck fan for the first few seasons, I still haven't managed to drag myself through the final season because there's just too much whimpering going on between Chuck and Sarah. As for BBT, Leonard turned into a bit of a dick after he got with Penny. Their relationship seems hinged solely on the fact that he's a geek that gets to sleep with a hot girl.
