Got mine, but the SIM must not be active, I get the EE logo but no data connection.

It's a million times nicer than the 800, but if you don't like big phones you won't like this one. I certainly won't get anything bigger than this :)

What plan did you get? New contract?

My EE sim still isn't active after 24 hours!

^JP^ ... make sure you get evidence that it hasn't, take a picture of your phone or something.

Evidence for who? The guy at P4U said it can take up to 72 hours. If it is not working on monday ill go in and let him deal with it.

well from what I heard you can get a PAYG, use it and call Customer services then they can unlock it same day for a small fee (i.e £15).

I've been on to t mob about this on three occasions now. It seems that if you get it with a PAYG sim you have to have the account open for 3 months before you can apply for the subsidy pin which can then take up to 28 days to come through. I'm not sure if the same applies to orange PAYG sims.

If you aren't on t mob you may want to think about getting it sim free then getting a friend or relative who has a current network contract with t mob to stick their sim in it and then they can immediately (I've had this confirmed twice now) apply for the subsidy pin. Again I'm not sure about how orange work.

I got my 920 this morning although one of the staff wasn't too happy I was buying it sim free and originally told me they were only going to sell it to me on contract. I told him that P4U were taking note of stores refusing to sell the phone sim free, because they were supposed to be.

interesting!.

well tmob and orange ARE EE. so it shouldnt matter since they are merged. but i guess the operations are still seperate for existing Tmob and orange customers

i just rang the p4u on regent street. "contract only"
i rang the one in cambridge, 3 of them and they said "yeh we do it sim free"
i even have the picture of them advertising the sim free phone.

I got mine on T-mob, was instantly activated, although my number port is taking two days.

Still playing... the sound quality is amazing. Love the fact you can change the equalizer. That has been missing on Android and iPhone phones I have had.

New contract. From what I read on the piece of paper with the phone, they use the Royal Mail's tracking details to determine if you have successfully received the phone, if so then they activate the SIM.

Makes the minor bug bear of plugging an iPhone into you computer and running iTunes seem like a dream (although you don't even need to do that now).

nope. im still waiting for it. and the red. they said that first it will be black and white then the other colors. im guessing in about 3 weeks to be honest.

Reading this thread on my note 2, eagerly awaiting news about unlocking EE handsets. The Note is nice, but it's not the handset I want. Love the S-Pen and the app selection, but really not getting on with Android and IMHO, while it'll be an unpopular thing to say, I think the build quality of this handset is a bit pants. It's very plasticy and the vibrate is more like a soft rattle. Hate the stock keyboard - I make loads of mistakes in landscape and the auto-correct does a rubbish job of putting them right.

At a dilemma really because , don't want to waste money on a Note 2 case, but I can't afford to let the Note get damaged. Sooner I understand the 920 situation and got to use one, the better.

Do love the handwriting recognition on this handset though. Very impressive.

Has anyone tried a Virgin Mobile sim? I know the phone is network locked to the EE group but VM uses the EE network, right?

Also, if you insert a sim - let's say Orange - does the phone lock itself to this network or can you still change to EE or T-Mobile?

WTF!! 3 weeks I hope not. Grrrr I'm getting annoyed now. I've been waiting patiently but I'm already miffed that I'll have to wait up to 28 days for the subsidy pin to get sorted (As per my previous post).

looked at black 920's in person today, really didnt like the matte finish, just looked a bit cheap and dull. waiting for red, p4u said next week but the deals were shocking.
