New family bus...

I can't stand Landies either :D. Is the rear door cracking on yours? I was welding one up for a friend, it seems like they just can't take the weight of having a wheel hanging off them. I think he keeps the spare on the roof now.

For all their incompetence on the road, it is nice being able to just lob bikes in the back with wheels on upright when the back seats are out. That said a minibus/van would do the job much better. I just don't get them but it sound like you do so fair enough!

My door is fine at the moment but yeah, spare wheels do tend to play havok with them. You can get hinged spare wheel holders that attach to the body rather than the door itself, I'll probably get one.

Looks epic, looks like its ready for safari!

Love how over the course I have been a member here you have gone from Japanese hoon mobiles such as your Subaru and then your RX7 to the polar opposite of a 110! old age hey?

Just make sure you don't put 'one life live it' stickers on, they make me die a little inside

Don't worry I haven't grown up, I've still got the Golf ;)

Had some fun with it today on Salisbury plain, didn't go mad because we were on our own but still had some fun:

Bit of an update for anybody who's interested. Been having a lot of fun with it, it's been extremely reliable so far and I've done several 'Pay-and-play' days and it has been amazingly capable, but the A/T tyres let me down a couple of times. After selling the Golf I decided to splash out on some nice mud tyres, but you all know me, I can't do things by half:

That's 33" x 12.5" on 15" modular wheels. Also fitted a winch bumper and Champion 12,000lb winch:

I still haven't used them off road yet, but should be a great improvement. Besides, they look awesome ;)

hah, that looks amazing!

I've got a lot of respect for Land Rovers since a few mates have owned them.

Amazingly capable bits of kit!

I've gotta tell you, it's a weird feeling to be driving through water with it coming up and over the bonnet :D

The tyres on the blue Landy didn't half make it wander around on the road. I'd imagine yours is worse, Ben. Are you leaving them on all the time or will you swap wheels as and when required?

Awesome :D Been looking to upgrade the current landy lightweight for a td5, just struggling to decide between a 110 hard top (great for a trip down to Morocco and bunging the kitchen sink in), or the 90 (great for the other 99% of driving I do).

Prices seem to be a little inflated at the moment, presumably due to the onset of Winter, so I'm holding off for the Spring. Then roll on the fat tyres, just like yours!

They don't wonder badly at all, I actually chose those particular tyres because they have pretty decent on road manners, the Insa Turbos on your mate's Disco are renowned for being 'interesting' on the road. Awesome in mud though.

I'll be keeping mine on all the time TBH, we don't exactly do big miles and like I said my particular tyres aren't too bad on the road.

I love wading, I agree the first time water came over the bonnet was slightly un-nerving :D

Love it! Always been a landy fan despite the totall lack of a need for one. I will own a 90 at some stage in my llife.
