Just played this for the first time.

Don't think I' be bothering again.

Yet another PC game that runs poorly on decent hardware (i7 [email protected] Ghz, 6GB RAM, GTX 580) It's not as if it looks decent. At least Hawken looks good, even though it too runs crap.

Aside from that, all I did was kill a few randoms that, like me, were aimlessly wondering around not knowing what to do or where to go. Then spawning in the areas where it was kicking off to be constantly killed by enemy players camping the respawn points.

I don't have the time or the inclination to play again because it's just another online shooter with vehicles. Granted it's on a large scale, but scale don't make it good or better than anything I've played before.
 
Just realized I had access to this yay! Does bring back the old PS1 feeling of epic battles, especially when you get into a nice 3 way battle with all factions over a big base.

A bit laggy and needs a ton of tweaking but it looks like it getting there slowly...

Hopefully we can get some OcUK squads going :)

Spec in sig and it plays this game flawlessly Max at 1080p. Very rarely the fps drops to around 42fps but still easily playable with a average 65fps.

To be honest mate you haven't really even gave it a chance from what your saying. After 2-3 hours you get the flow of it. Its better if you can get a few on voice comms.

Its a team game and solo players get punished immediately and in the most severe fashion :)

In my opinion this is one of the best online fps I've played in years. Sure it has some flaws but nothing patches can't sort out. Best of all its free!!!!!

Downloading now - what are class populations like?

I tend to like playing the underdog class; I'm edging towards either the engi or combat medic at the moment.
 
Closed Afterburner before going in... not a single crash :-D

underdog... NC can barely get their act together at the moment :-(

Ive only had it a couple of days nd it seems to be in drop pods or redeploying back to the warp gate. As frustrating as it is i havent had this much fun for a while with a shooter lol

Ibdont think ive got afterburner installed. Does this matter?
 
I used to get a sound bug when zooming on the map but that's it.

If you don't have afterburner installed you can't turn it off as you don't have it :P

You have 3 factions so the big decision is which one you join, in the long run though none of them will be the under dog so just pick the one you like the look of. In terms of classes, you can spend cert points to specialise in certain classes but can change class every time you respawn or visit a terminal so unlike MMORPGS you dont have to pick one and stick with it, you will change class depending on situation.
 
Does anyone else feel like infantry combat is like playing in treacle? It feels so unrefined, like they did they basics and went 'that will do'

The NC weapons feel terrible to use, the bullet spread effect is laughable, and everyone is a sniper in open field firefights.
