*** Nexus 10 Tablet ***

Missus collected it from the bloke. I didn't see the van. Came just before 9. I have no clue why I have mine and others don't.

Like I said before, but my order actually failed and I just gave up. The surprise was an email some 30 mins later confirming the order. I never had a Google wallet before either.

I feel special. But I do feel bad for you guys. I am nobody special!

By the way have hooked up a on the go cable with a usb stick. It didn't recognise it. Installed the nexus media application and I was able to view media files. I played a 4gb mpg file ok via B's player.

Just got an email saying mine has been dispatched. My optimism may not have been misplaced...

Maybe I'll take the whole day off tomorrow :)

Me too, I ordered at around 2:30pm yesterday so anyone that ordered earlier should realistically get an email aswell.

I'll be more than peeved if I don't get one tonight. I'm getting it delivered to work but I'm off from Friday for a week which I only did as nobody is home during the day :/

Has anybody clicked the link to the tnt tracking info in the play order shipped email?

Mine shows lots of tracking information such as shipped 25th October arrived 26th October for locations in Inverness?

Hmmm hopefully it will refresh with information relevent to me tonight or tomorrow!

Ok, figured out how to take screen shot. The planet is rotating in the background.

Instructions to take screenshot:To take a screenshot on your new Nexus, hold in the volume down and the power buttons at the same time. After a brief pause, you'll hear an audible noise and see an animation.

Bit of a non related question... how do you get whatsapp to work on a wifi-only tablet? Doesn't it need a sim card?

There's a hack to get WhatsApp installed. Takes a bit of a messing about but worth it given everyone I know uses it for group chat madness. I'll post the details shortly as I copied instructions into evernote.

No sim. Just need a phone number that you don't already use for WhatsApp.

Instructions. Links quoted in text are here:

http://www.bluestacks.com/

A. Whatsapp apk (must be the absolute latest version, since it can't be download via Google Play store, download the apk from WhatsApp for Android This can be download it right on your N7, any browser!)

B. Appguard apk: SRT AppGuard (don't worry about the German, the app is in English. This also can be DL using your N7, but you'll have to click and hold the "Download der appguard.apk" and Save link as.)

1. Install WhatsApp, once installed just close it.

2. Install AppGuard
- Start up open/run appguard.
- Select "Secure a new app"
- Select "Whatsapp"
- Appguard will take you through 3-steps:[*]scan and secure application[*]Uninstall existing application[*]Install secured application

Once the process is completed, within Appguard, you'll need to change Whatsapp Permissions by removing the setting for "Phone calls - read phone status and identity"

3. Download and install Bluestacks on your PC: BlueStacks App Player

4. Select "Messaging" and install WhatsApp on your PC.

5. Input your mobile number. You should get a text with the 3-digit verification code. Be patient, it can take few minutes.

6. Once you have your code, go back to your Nexus 7, run WhatsApp, press menu (3 dots on bottom right corner) then input the code.

For 6.......I had the same issue; the option to enter the code did not appear until I submitted my country and phone number also through Whatsapp on my Nexus 7. Naturally due to the missing mobile network on the device I got an error. So I tapped on the button call me which yielded yet another error. Click away from that message and if you now click the three dots icon in the bottom right corner the enter code option should be available. Good luck!
