GPU Card Repair?

Hi all,

Long story short. Ive managed to knock off two tiny surface mounted (which I presume are) resistors. You know the ones, about the size of full stop lol.

No other damage has been caused and the board is not physically damaged. The tracks are fine and the pads to which these resistors were mounted look fine. Card has not been turned on since the damage, so presuming I can get replacements soldered on by somewhere it should be good to go.

Card is a gtx580 which may (most likely) have been reduced to a paperweight by my stupidity .

So is it possible? Does anyone know where I can get this done?

I've still got 1 and lost the other.

Im a bit apprehensive about trying the card out with the parts missing as I don't wont to destroy any other components (not saying it will but you never know).

Its an EVGA card but im not sure if they will help as its accidental damage.

Had identical accident a few years back with a Gigabyte7800GT, it was repaired & returned.

No idea what EVGA's customer service is like though.

I suppose I could claim on my house insurance but the excess would be £100 plus the increased premium for 5 years would most likely cost me more!

Will wait and see what EVGA say before launching it in the bin!
