*** The Official FIFA 13 Thread ***

Getting sick of FUT this year. They've totally ruined it for me with the rubbish AI and the handicapping/scripting/balancing/whatever you want to call it.

Been done over because of it twice in a row tonight, as a result I got knocked out of a cup, and lost against some pathetic silver team 6-5.

What is the point in these decent players if they perform worse than average-joe silver? Why should I bother to try and win anything when I'm counting on the proverbial coin toss as to whether my players will actually play properly, or theirs won't be supermen.

An example might be used in CoD, for example. I'm not a big fan, but I think it can illustrate my point.

Imagine you have your weapons, your loadout and whatever, but you had a % chance that when you shoot, it actually doesn't at all, or it randomly jams. Or maybe it suddenly fires daisies or something. And then there's the % chance that your opponent will fire a hundred homing bullets each second directly to your head. It of course works in reverse.

Can you imagine that? It would be ridiculous. Yet somehow EA get away with it in FIFA. Probably because they have fanboys at their disposal and mods to delete and ban people who suggest it on the official forums.

I'm seriously considering selling my teams, selling my coins and chucking it in the bin. Where's the enjoyment when I have to rely on rng to actually be able to play a proper game? I find no satisfaction in being dumped out of the division title or cups randomly because the game decides to give the other player a massive boost.

It's a joke.

Oh and where are injuries? Why did they take them out? And why did they not inform us on the actual game that they've made a significant change? Where's the 'realism' in that? Invulnerable players.

How about the commentary? What's the point of even having it in if all they do is moan about how the keeper who has kept a clean sheet is having a woeful game, or that despite having 5 games left to play, and 3 points to stay in the division do they go on and on about how you "have to win".

Celebrations are just stupid. They're not realistic at all. How many players will prance like fairies, pretend to be a DJ or crawl along the pitch? Only a handful, and very rarely. There's no realism at all.

Frankly, it's a poor show this year and it's doubtful that I'll be getting it next year. Which is a shame, because normally I would play at least another thousand matches and put in some more money.

"Yes, put in £100 and the best you get is Rolando, gg". :S

Rant over. :(

I honestly wouldn't play it if I wasn't so unemployed, I never get the urge to play Fifa, I just use it as a time-filler really as I have nothing better to do. Am pretty glad I didn't pump any money in to it to be honest.

Though I agree with you, Im not allowed to moan but with that line, you and Ibra have made my night :D

Theres a reason why I play FUT12 only now...

ps3ud0

Need a new controller now after some good'ol fifa rage. Was winning 2-1 with 7 minutes left. Opponent gets a very, very dodgy penalty which they convert and then my defenders go awol and then combined with a very sweaty goal resulted in a rage. HOWEVER, I got a penalty in the 90th min which I scored and then broke up play and went down the other end and scored making it 4-3. Fifa is the only thing that makes me rage.

Also, what players are people liking for EPL? For me, Shane Long is a beast. And jsut got Xavi Garcia as a DFM in a 4-5-1 and I swear he wants to be a striker. Wins everything in the air though and breaks up play nicely.

Being an Albion fan I wanted to give shane long a bash and he is an awesome super sub, throw him on in the last 15 and hel bag you at least 1. Mirrallas is good up top, fellaini is awesome, taraabt at cam, hoilett is pretty good for how cheap he is

There's a DJ Celebration? Where?

^ haha

But yeah, Gackt, I share your feelings entirely. :)

Something that was frustrating me earlier was a bit odd. So I got promoted to Division 1 (again) in online Seasons, and because I'm slightly colour blind/hate dark or black or blue coloured balls, I would prefer to be the home team to ensure I can see my own fricking ball. But in searching for matches, not once did I ever get matched as the home team. I ended up just ok'ing a few because it was getting boring, and 6 out of 7 players were using blue/dark/grey balls. The ******s.

Conclusion- there is clearly a conspiracy against me, personally. Also, screw you all who use ****** coloured footballs. You bar stewards.

:p

Seems for me to decide whether it's home game time or away game time when you start the game up. Just restart the game and often it'll switch :)

Thanks for those Tim! Might give one of those a go :)

I'm still tryign to decide on a good formation to use, I'm struggling with getting the balance right this year.

If you look on you tube for "ea respond to scripting fifa"

They admit to having some form of momentum engine in the Euro 08 game? but it has been totally removed from all Fifa's since Fifa 10, also mention how fatigue can greatly affect your players late on in the match with control, passing etc. But everything else is down to the player it might help some people get some closure and give up on the whole "it's scripted" nonsense.

End of the day, does "momentum" swing during a match, yes, in our heads!

I've had matches where I've been 2-0 up at u80 mins and lost 3-2 and can heard a million teenagers scream "OMG SCRIPTING!" But at the same time, I've had matches where I've been 2-0 up at 80' and won 5-1, where are your scripts now?

When players have a stat out of 99, its not a guaruntee that its going to happen, someone with 80 passing isn't always going to pass to feet 100% of the time, someone with 90 ball control isn't always going to catch hold of the ball, and if you are losing, unless you are Barcelona, you do pla a bit differently, a bit more intense and push forward harder, sometimes it pays off (Scripting) someone it doesn't (Damn EA..)...

C'mon..

Oh I totally know that, and that was last year where I admit I said what I said about handicapping, (Never said scripting) etc.. tried bronze benches, everything, I put my hands up, I was usually outplayed, I can admit that now :p

I'm trying to be all righteous here, stop stepping on my preaching sandals :D

a quick knock up of a premiership squad thanks to selling Dani Alves for 220k!

Will see how it plays - still got my full italian/series A squad that I could sell for around 250k as well to improve this.

is it a good idea to play strikers has CAMS? in a 4231
i was thinking:
CAM - Ba currently have Sessegnon (sp)
CAM - Cisse currently Ramires
CF - Suarez
SC - Balotelli

just something that popped into my head

Right then Tim, after trying to get on with 4-1-2-1-2 I've given up. Back to 3 at the back me thinks, much more fun if a little (LOT) more vulnerable. Whilst I sill have IF Alba I thought I'd try him at the back. I have Pepe and Ramos as the 2 rocks so lets see if Alba's pace compliments them although his lack of height and strength may ruin that. If not I might plonk Pique in the middle and put Pepe to LCB. I think this will be fun!
