Which Jobs Pay Well But Aren't Too Demanding?

Join a large inefficient multinational, advance to a senior, well paid but non exec grade and sit on your laurels.

Either that or join vast swathes of the public sector. I hear they're a right bunch of clock watchers!

There are quite a few jobs where you get paid a large amount for doing little to nothing, they are impossible to get for an outsider / random person though.

What's the definition of paid a lot for little effort? I get between £25-27k and all I did today was answer 4 phonecalls, play pool and browse the web. I actually want MORE work! I would like more money too though!

I once knew an air traffic controller who was well paid and ran a business in his spare time.

We get loads of time off. But it's certainly not effortless while working. Unless, as I stated earlier, you work somewhere really quiet like Barra or Benbecula.

School teacher.
They work 9-3.30, have 10% preparation time (where they are not even allowed to cover lessons for other teachers) and have 13 weeks holiday. They wouldn't stand a chance in the real world.

The people at train stations that blow whistles and hold out a stick to tell the train it's ok to go.

Not quite sure how well that is payed though and can be demanding if at a busy station, make sure it's at a 1 platform station. :D

One did get found guilty of manslaughter last week for blowing his whistle at the wrong time, on purpose.

Any council job? ;)

Good joke. And so is the guy who said IT support.

I do IT support for the Council, and I'm paid the princely sum of £15k a year.

OK, admittedly I have lots of time for web browsing, but the OP did say well paid...

gynaecologist and bureaucrats. If you can get in to one of those quangos, you can sit back and push paper all day.

Where do the gynaecologists push this paper exactly? I'm not a woman but is it part of the exam? Wait...is that what a smear test is??

No idea, my friend who told me about it described it as 'fixing underwater JCBs'

I'd guess at a Sat diver then, but describing it as fixing an underwater JCB strikes me as being quite retarded indeed.

Sat divers earn around £1300 a day, but 28 days living inside a small chamber isn't exactly fun. Plus you have to be a mentalist to do such a job!

Of course some do, and thinking otherwise is ridiculous.

(Average salary by profession)

I guess some would argue based on the OP's question and the table above, that Psychologists fits the question quite well....

That teaching one is incorrect, Teachers are paid the same, no matter the gender.

It starts at around 22k a year and raises 1-1.5k a year untill the 20 year mark i think then its capped.
