no, ive been after the red or yellow for a couple of weeks like a kid who needs to pee real bad.
but because its not unlocked.... why keep it and especially since they "missold" it to me when I enquired about it several times - online and IN STORE.... but then obviously reading here it was made that it is locked.
thought maybe the batch I would recieve would be unlocked but clearly not the case.

Does it work on the network you want?
Do you like the phone?
If yes, then keep it as locked or not doesn't affect you and you can always unlock it later

If not, then you need to decide what you want

An update to the Fatboy saga. Put the phone on it last night, got up this morning to find the battery level barely changed. For something that cost £80 it's a huge disappointment. I suspect that the phone isn't close enough to the charging pad or not aligned right.

Just put my phone on the Maxell QI charger I have and it's charging fast.

Do you have any desperate need to be on one network over the other? if so then you should return it. Otherwise get a SIM on a compatible network.

I've switched from my cherished Giffgaff to EE and it's not so bad.

Woke up this morning to find the phone off.
Sometime in the night it decided to switch itself off.
Not good

Hardware fault most likely. You probably need a replacement. If you saw how some couriers handle the packages it's no wonder some devices arrive damaged, so don't blame the maker.

http://nokiafreecharger.com/

So it's the 16th today for the last 9 and a half hour now (GMT). I wonder when will the site actually open!

I thought I should point out that Nokia know which IMEIs are sent to which vendors, and so trying to enter your non-P4U or EE-sourced IMEI probably won't work - they'll be able to figure out where the phone originated simply from the IMEI.

Ok, Just requested my PAC code from O2. Was intending on going Giff Gaff Monthly £10 deal unless there was another tariff the same on a compatible network. So whens the next batch of unlocked handsets arriving and where, any clues or guesses?

Right, I've gone back to the 4S for the time being but still want to use the Nokia as a media device (pics, videos, skydrive). What's the cheapest pay as you go tariff? Don't need any minutes. Some text message allowance would be good but need some data

Thank you cu3ed ,
Yes I tried that, I even restored the device. However while going through the setup wizard (after restoring ) I noticed that the phone recognised the sim for few seconds and even showed the G sign but the Sim invalid message appeared again.

Any suggestions ???

Thanks

It deffo was a fully unlocked phone you bought yes, from Clove or the like?

Nice of them isnt it!
We can tell theirs hundreds at least that have sold out very quickly, and we get nothing for purchasing the phone direct from Nokia, and putting the cash straight into their hands, and are offered nothing from them.
I know they dont have to, but this attitude of sucking carriers love pumps thinking it will somehow lead to sales is beyond stupidity.

But back in the day, wasn't that Nokia's biggest strength, the relationship they had with carriers? Maybe they are trying to get some of that mojo back?

Does anyone know how to find Windows 8 phone apps or apps that have been made with Windows 8 phone in mind. I only seem to find apps that have been created before the release of Windows 8.

Been refreshing the page all morning waiting for it to become active. It says you have to wait 14 days after purchase before you can apply for it(to allow for return time) but I'm gonna try it today anyway...
